Come run through the oaks in the 4th Annual Butts & Guts 5K presented by the GIANT LEAP Foundation benefiting The Roots of Music on Saturday, August 15, 2026. The GIANT LEAP Foundation is a non-profit organization that supports educational opportunities in New Orleans and nationally.

Join us for an exciting community race that winds through the scenic Audubon Park. This flat and fast course offers runners of all levels a chance to challenge themselves while supporting a great cause. The race starts and finishes at Audubon Park Shelter 10, providing a convenient and picturesque setting for this memorable event.

After crossing the finish line, participants can enjoy post-race refreshments. By taking part, you'll be directly contributing to The Roots of Music, an organization dedicated to empowering young musicians in New Orleans.

Race Day:

• 7:30 AM - Packet Pickup
• 8:30 AM - 5K
• 9:15 AM - Award Ceremony (subject to change)

The Roots of Music, founded in 2007 by Derrick Tabb, provides music education and culture to New Orleans youth. The organization offers three programs: Sprouts of Music for ages 3-8, Marching Crusaders Band for ages 9-14, and The Roots Studio Academy for ages 15-18.
