The King Cake 5K is one of our most important events each year, raising essential funds to support the services provided by our organization. The unprecedented precautions taken by our state to minimize the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic has required us to take a step back and seek alternatives to our original plans.
To preserve the health and safety of our supporters, sponsors, staff, volunteers, survivors, and board members we have decided to transition our race to a VIRTUAL RACE.
The virtual race format allows our participants to run wherever you want! Go to the park, run the treadmill, or in your neighborhood. This is also a fun way to get your family out of the house while you exercise social distancing.
If you have registered for the race, please click on this link to fill out the form once you have done your run/walk for the virtual race. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfdKa5ppIp3stYB6SJBo3BfVnlYaXvLx5fzPLbz_opKGryyZQ/viewform?usp=sf_link . You will receive an email with more details about this transition and pick-up information for your official race t-shirts. You will have the opportunity to record and upload your run time, share videos/pictures, and compete for our beautiful medals. We will also extend our online registration until April 18th to allow for more runners to participate in this new format.
Thank you to our amazing sponsors and runners! Your understanding and support during this crazy time has been unwavering. These funds are essential to our operations and cancelling this event would have been damaging to our services. Watch our Facebook page and RunSignUp website for more details on our Virtual Race.
