Where does this race start and finish?
Start at Sylvan Beach, 636 N. Bayshore Dr., La Porte, TX 77571, and finish at Five Points Plaza, 100 S Broadway, La Porte, TX 77571.
What is the time limit?
Four (4) hours, strictly enforced.*
*Bridge races involve special permission and cooperation by local authorities, police, and emergency response, impacting vehicle traffic. To continue these races, we must comply with the limits set by these agencies. Runners trailing behind may not be allowed back on the bridge for their final loop.

Can I register at packet pickup or on Race Day?
Yes, if slots are open. Note: You will not be given a shirt until after the race, if available.

Do you accept credit cards at Packet Pick-up and Race Day registration?
Yes, we do!
Is the event chip timed?
Yes, the timing chip is on your bib.
What if I forget my bib at home?
If you lose or forget your bib, there will be a $10 charge to reissue a new one. You will not receive an official time if you are not properly wearing your bib. No exceptions.
What type of race shirt will I receive?
A technical shirt.
Can I exchange my shirt for a different size?
If extras are available after the race, you may exchange your shirt. However, if the race fills, exchanges are unlikely.
What if I can’t make it to the race?
No refunds or transfers to next year. However, you can:
- Donate your entry to charity (you’ll receive a donation receipt).
- Transfer your entry to another person (a $10 fee may apply after the bib name deadline).
Running under someone else’s bib will result in immediate disqualification. Transfers must be official.
Can you mail my race packet or award?
We do not mail race packets. Awards may be picked up at a designated location. We may mail your award for a postage fee.
Can I wear headphones?
Headphones are discouraged. If used, only one earpiece should be worn, keeping one ear free.
What is the minimum age requirement?
Minimum age is 8 years, with a consenting parent or guardian’s signature required.
Are walkers allowed?
Yes, but you must maintain an 18-19 min/mile pace to finish within the 4-hour limit.
Are strollers allowed?
Yes, but please be cautious of other runners.
Are wheelchairs or pets allowed?
Wheelchair racing is not insured, and pets are not allowed on the course.
Will there be Mile Markers?
Yes, at every mile.
What’s the official race drink?
Lemon Lime flavored Gatorade, available at aid stations and the finish (not on the bridge).
Will there be port-a-potties?
Yes, at all aid stations, start, and finish.
What are your bad weather plans?
We will not cancel for rain unless visibility becomes unsafe. Lightning will delay the race by 30 minutes per lightning strike within 6 miles. Tornado warnings will cancel the event. If canceled on-course, police, SAG, and medical personnel will assist participants.
