DUATHLON
Distances: 2-mile run, 20K bike, 5K run
Starting Point: The duathlon starts under the duathlon start flag in front of the transition area, adjacent to the #3 aid station tent in the run out chute.
Format: Run - Bike - Run
- First Run Leg: Athletes will head out to the 1-mile mark, reaching the first aid station. After reaching the turnaround point, runners will make their way back to transition, following the run chute around the transition area and meshing with swimmers heading up from the swim.
- Bike Leg: Upon returning to transition, athletes will transition to the bike leg, joining the rest of the sprint course participants. The bike course follows the designated route for the 20K distance, providing a challenging yet scenic ride.
- Second Run Leg: After completing the bike leg, athletes will transition back to running for the final segment of the duathlon. Runners will follow the course layout for the 5K distance, pushing through the final stretch to the finish line.
Aid Stations: Aid stations will be strategically placed along the course to provide hydration and support for athletes.
Transition Area: Transition areas will be well-marked and organized, ensuring smooth transitions between the run and bike segments.
Finish: Athletes will cross the finish line along with the rest of the sprint course participants, celebrating their accomplishment.
Medical Assistance: Medical personnel will be available throughout the course to provide assistance if needed.
Course Marshals: Marshals will be stationed along the route to guide and support athletes, ensuring a safe and enjoyable race experience.
