Prepare for an exhilarating ride on the Lighthouse Triathlons & Duathlon bike course, offering a perfect blend of flat stretches and gentle rolling hills. After exiting the beach in Downtown Ludington with a left turn, athletes head north along the stunning shoreline of Lake Michigan on Lakeshore Drive.
For Olympic Distance competitors, a right turn onto Jagger initiates a slightly rolling terrain journey. Navigate a series of turns, including lefts on Lincoln and Duneview, followed by a fast downhill stretch along Lakeshore Drive with picturesque Lake Hamlin in view. Fly past Lake Hamlin, then make a hairpin right turn onto M116, tracing the shoreline back along Lake Michigan. A scenic, shaded section awaits on Piney Ridge before reaching the turnaround point just before the state park. The return journey offers a smooth, flat ride back to the venue, ensuring a thrilling and satisfying cycling experience.
Sprint Distance participants continue straight on M116, journeying towards the state park until reaching the 10k turnaround point. Exercise caution along this busy stretch, with sand dunes flanking the road on both sides. After making the turnaround before the state park, enjoy a rapid, effortless return to Downtown Ludington along the flat terrain.
For Super Sprint athletes, the turnaround point is marked at the 3-mile mark on Piney Ridge Rd. Exercise caution when executing the turnaround, marked with clear signage and supported by dedicated volunteers. Once again, enjoy the swift return journey to the city beach, taking in the scenic beauty of Ludington's coastline.
