Description

Grab your old running shoes and join us for the 10th annual Gibbet Hill Cattle Run while raising money for a great cause!

Dodge cow-pies, navigate cattle trails, dash through 'castle ruins', and get ready to scale Groton's most famous peak, Gibbet Hill.  The Gibbet Hill Cattle Run is a 8.4 mile, three-person team relay with each team member running two 1.4 mile legs. Think you'll work up an appetite? Barbecue, beer, and live music will be waiting for you and your team at the finish line to help celebrate raising money for these great causes.  Webber Restaurant Group chefs will team up to create a fantastic barbeque menu that will be well worth your two treks around Gibbet Hill. Thirsty? Our friends from Narragansett will be on hand serving some of their new seasonal brews along with the classic Lager. Hi, Neighbor!

The Gibbet Hill Cattle Run & BBQ began in 2016 and has been held annually (except in 2020) ever since.  Since its inception, the Cattle Run has raised over $230,000.00 for local charities.  This event is fully sponsored by the Webber Family and managed by a team of Webber Restaurant Group volunteers, so all monies raised go directly to our designated charities.

The unique and challenging course, the delicious BBQ, and loads of fun have made the Gibbet Hill Cattle Run & BBQ an unforgettable community event.

Gibbet Hill Cattle Run: Three-Person Relay Registration

The Gibbet Hill Cattle Run Relay is a three-person race. Relay participation includes a fundraising commitment of $50 per participant ($150 minimum per team). Participants may either fundraise through their personal fundraising page or contribute the minimum amount directly themselves. PLEASE NOTE: After July 15, the minimum will be raised to $180 per team.

All fundraising and registration proceeds benefit our charitable partners.

Cattle Run Age 12 & Under Single Loop

Designed for kids 12 & under, this event allows young runners to experience the thrill of the course without the need for a relay team. Unlike the main relay race, the Single Loop is a solo run covering just one lap of the Cattle Run course. It’s the perfect way for kids to get involved, challenge themselves, and join in the fun!  Registration includes a BBQ entry and a Cattle Run t-shirt. Please indicate child's t-shirt size when registering.

Little Lambs Mini Run

Little lambs will race around our retention pond while dodging and maneuvering obstacles for a chance to claim the winning trophy. Two age brackets available, 6-8 years, and 5 years & under. Registration is $30 and includes a t-shirt, a BBQ ticket and more!  100% of registration fee is donated to our beneficiaries.  When you arrive, please check your Little Lambs in at the registration desk to receive a bib and instructions on where to gather for the race.  The Little Lambs Mini Run will begin at 5:15pm.

Fun for your family & friends!

The Cattle Run is fun for everyone! Spectators can enjoy lawn games, a delicious BBQ, music, and all the festivities of cheering on our runners!
