We are making every effort to host the Jamaco River Run on Saturday June 19th as an in-person road race and post-race event. That said, in the state of Massachusetts, road races and other large outdoor athletic events are not being allowed until some point in Phase IV of Massachusett’s Covid re-opening plan. Given the current trends as it relates to Covid we are hopeful that by June we will be able to host this event in-person, however, we realize that there is always the possibility that road races will still not be allowed by June 19th. We also realize that many of our participants may still not feel comfortable attending a road race in-person. So, in the interest of including as many members of our Jamaco family as possible, this year we are offering an in-person 5K road race, as well as, a virtual 5K road race. Our participants can feel comfortable registering for either option as all in-person registrations will automatically be converted to virtual 5K registrations should the state of Massachusetts not allow road races by June 19th. We hope to see everyone on June 19th!
Can’t make the event due to a conflict or not comfortable for in-person racing?
Join us virtually!! We’ve extended “race day” a the full weekend starting Friday, June 18th. You will have until Sunday, June 20th, to complete your virtual event and submit your virtual results. You’ll receive all the same swag. Unfortunately, you won't be eligible for awards, but you can download a custom finisher’s certificate upon completion.
Where should you run/walk? Anywhere you want, as long as it’s following the most current social distancing requirements by state and local officials. You can do any course that works for you, on a treadmill, trail, track, or around your neighborhood. Go for it!
When should I run/walk? Find a time of day that works best for you and complete the 5K (3.1 miles) distance.
