Jamaco River Run

The 9th annual Jamaco River Run and Post-Race celebration will be held once again on Saturday, June 21, 2025.  This is a fun, family-friendly day complete with a Kid's Fun Run, a USATF certified & sanctioned 5K road race, and a post-race event with live music, a craft beer tent, burgers and dogs, activities for the kids, award ceremony and an amazing prize raffle.  Registration & Bib Pickup will begin at 8am at Waterhouse Field (74 E. Main St, Merrimac, MA).  Free parking is available on site.  The Kids Fun Run kicks off at 9am followed by the 5K walk/run at 10am.  The first 200 registrants receive a custom commemorative t-shirt, a swag bag, and a free beer (21+).  

We are excited to announce that we are partnering with Sweet Paws Rescue for this year's race! 

Sweet Paws Rescue (SPR) is a local non-profit animal rescue based in Groveland. They are a grassroots, boots-on-the-ground, shelterless, foster-based organization, primarily working within two of the poorest counties in Mississippi and Alabama.  Since 2011, they have rescued close to 22,000 puppies, dogs, kittens, and cats that would not have a chance at life otherwise and also serve as a New England resource for the abandoned and displaced, as well as animals seized in cruelty cases within our home state.  As a volunteer-powered organization, Sweet Paws rescue and home as many animals as other larger local brick-and-mortar organizations that have paid staff and endowments. In addition to providing the love, food, and basic veterinary care the animals need to thrive, they are providing Heartworm treatment to many adult dogs, and sometimes even life-sustaining surgeries and emergency care. The adoption fees paid to SPR only offset the costs associated with each life they save.

It is our hope that this partnership will make 2025 our best year yet and we once again look forward to giving back to our local community!
