Description
Walter’s Run 5k takes place on Sunday December 13th, 2026 in the West Roxbury neighborhood of Boston. Hosted by Parkway Running Club, Walter's Run is in its 32nd year and is one of Boston’s best holiday races. Walter's Run offers fun for running clubs and families so bring the entire crew on race day.
Starting and ending at the Parkway Community YMCA, Walter’s Run 5k is a rolling route thru the West Roxbury. Our accurate wheel-measured course is USATF sanctioned. We provide a water stop, mile splits and course security with volunteers and police.
Event Information
Registration & Bib Pickup
- Now Open
- Online registration closes Saturday 12/13 at 11am. Price increase after 11am on Saturday
- Pre-Registered runners: Pick up your bib number and hat (if you registered in time!) starting at 9:00am on race day in the YMCA gym
Race Day registration
- 9:00am – 10:40 am at The Parkway YMCA
- To allow for a safe race start, race day registration will close at 10:40am. NO EXCEPTIONS. If you choose to register on race day, please plan to do so early.

Parking and Directions
- Parking: Free and easy local parking is available on the surrounding streets and municipal lots. You may also park in local lots of businesses that are closed on Sundays.

- Post Race Festivities: Water and snacks available post race as we await award announcements.
- Awards: winners are announced on a rolling basis
Kids Fun Run – Free
Fun Run Start/Finish:
- Parkway Community YMCA, Bellevue St., West Roxbury. Finish under the big arch!
- Fun Run Start time: 10:20 am ish little toes on the start line
- Registration: in person on race day starting at 9:00 am
- Awards: Medals and candy canes for all participants.
