Spring Explorer Race Series - Lake Montebello

REGISTRATION FEES:

Individual Race: $10
Spring Explore Race Series Bundle (All Seven Races): $50 (increases to $60 on April 1st)

HOW DOES IT WORK?

1. Sign up! You can register for a single race, or sign up for the series bundle (hint: you’re going to want the bundle!). More info on the SWAG below.
2. Pick up your gear. If you’ve signed up for the series bundle you’ve got some really cool SWAG to grab including your phone holder, sticker sheet, and race passport. We’ll have packet pickups in our stores (see below), and shipping/late pickup options after the series begins.
3. Download RaceJoy. RaceJoy is the interactive race app for Android and iOS that will allow you to compete on the same courses as your fellow runners and walkers. Each location’s course is built in, and your friends can give you “cheers” as you’re running!
4. Pick a race and go! You can run any race you want in any order! Courses vary from 2 miles to just over 10k, and are located near communities where we have Charm City Run stores. Fire up the RaceJoy app, make your way to the start line, and hit GO on your app. RaceJoy starts tracking your distance and automatically submits your result to RunSignup when you reach the finish line.
5. Mark off your race passport! Your sticker sheet has an individual sticker for each race location. As you run a race you can apply the sticker to the race passport and mark your progress
6. Repeat! You have 8 weeks to run the 7 courses. You don’t have to run all of them if you don’t want to, and you don’t have to take all 8 weeks to do it. If you complete at least 5 of the races you’ll be eligible for our series scoring, which compiles your finish placement for each completed race. We’ll be handing out awards for each race, as well as our series winners.

WHAT DO YOU GET?

Series Bundle

Sign up for the series bundle for $50 and you get all the gear (price increases to $60 on April 1st):

• A Nathan Vista WaistPak or Vista Smartphone Arm Sleeve Carrier. Since you’ll need to carry your smartphone with you while you run to use RaceJoy what better premium than a phone holder? These two options both normally retail for $30!
• Race Passport card. This 6”x6” card is printed on thick cardstock and gives you a place for each race sticker to go!
• Sticker Sheet. Each race has its own sticker, and you’ll get the full sheet upfront so you can complete the races at your own pace. The sheet is also die-cut with a bonus Spring Explorer Race Series sticker!
• Access to RaceJoy for all 7 races
• A Spring Explorer Race Series sticker. Goes well on cars, notebooks, lockers, tool chests, water bottles, you know…
• Eligibility for individual race awards
• Eligibility for series awards if you complete at least 5 races

Want to run for free? With our referral program you can have your registration fee refunded!

Here is how it works:
1. Register online for the Spring Explorer Race Series.
2. Receive a unique referral link via your confirmation page and email.
3. Share this link with your friends, family or post on social media.
4. After 5 registrants sign up using your unique referral link you will automatically receive a refund of your registration fee.

Please note: If you are signing up for the "bundle", your referral code will be applicable for whichever "primary race" you registered from (the race page that you are on).

LAKE MONTEBELLO COURSE

This course consists of two laps around Baltimore’s famed Lake Montebello. The route begins and ends at the crosswalk near Lake Montebello Elementary/Middle School, and is run entirely in the paved “runner lane” around the lake. Street parking is available nearby.

The top male and female runners in each race will receive a $25 gift card to Charm City Run!

If you participate in the entire Spring Explorer Race Series you can bring in your completed Race Passport to any Charm City Run retail location and receive 25% off your purchase of regular-priced apparel and accessories (excludes Garmin, Theragun & Hypervolt) through June 30th!

If you complete at least 5 races in the Spring Explorer Race Series you are entered into our series scoring competition. At the end of May we'll compile the top 3 men and women in the series, and they'll receive a special prize from Charm City Run!

As we slowly return to racing in 2021, we want to be completely transparent with our policies regarding refunds, deferrals, and cancellations. If you are interested in signing up for this race please read this section carefully prior to registering. All interested participants will be shown these policies during the registration process and must agree to adhere to them in order to be admitted to the event.

Refunds

Race registration fees (and the processing charge from RunSignup) are not refundable. These funds are used to pay for race premiums, permits, supplies, staffing, and other costs incurred before, during, and after the event is held. To be consistent and fair to everyone we cannot make exceptions to this policy.

Deferrals

Deferrals will not be offered for the Spring Explorer Race Series.

Transfers

We offer the option for registrants to transfer their entry to another eligible participant up to two weeks prior to the race (March 15th). After this deadline passes we are unable to allow transfers as race materials have been received and prepped for the event. Again, to be consistent and fair to everyone we cannot make exceptions to this policy. Registrants may transfer their entry to another registrant by going into their profile on runsignup.com and choosing "Manage Registration" next to the race. There is a $10 processing fee for transfers (the fee will be paid by the registrant who is transferring the race registration).
