This beautiful and fun 5K dash around Frederick Maryland's Baker Park is held annually on the first Saturday of December to benefit Girls on the Run of Mid and Western Maryland. Come ready to compete, or come in a (safe) costume - we'll provide a high-energy event for all!
Shirt deadline: October 31, 2022 You can request a shirt at packet pickup, however, receipt of a shirt is not guaranteed at this point. We do have plenty of finisher's medals to go around, so you won't walk away empty-handed!
Race HQ and race-day packet pickup will take place adjacent to the Talley Rec Center, 121 N. Bentz St., Frederick Md., from 7 to 8:45 AM. The 1K Fun Run will begin at 8:30am - the 5k run/walk will start at 9:00am.
Those planning on registering on-site race morning should be prepared to register via smartphone and use a credit card for payment. NO CASH accepted for race-day registration. We will have personnel to assist with on-site registration in the Drees Booth, if needed.
Also as a reminder, we are also putting on an event in Hagerstown on Sunday, 12/4/2022 - the Gingerbread Dash 5K! This new event promises to be the perfect complement to the Candy Cane Dash, with plenty of holiday cheer to go around! For information about the Gingerbread Dash, go to www.gingerbreaddash.org.
Covid mitigation - We encourage participants and spectators to practice wear a properly worn face covering during packet pickup and wherever the maintaining of social distancing cannot be maintained while at the event. All of our volunteers who have been assigned participant-facing roles have been instructed to wear properly fitting face coverings on race day and at early packet pickup.
