Lambda Theta Phi Latin Fraternity, Inc. was founded on December 1, 1975, at Kean University in Union, New Jersey, as the first nationally recognized Latino fraternity in the United States. Since then, it has grown to over 180 chapters across the country, promoting Latino unity, cultural awareness, academic excellence, and community service.

Members are actively involved on campus and in their communities, participating in service initiatives, cultural programming, and leadership development. Through these efforts, brothers build strong skills in leadership, communication, and scholarship while giving back to the communities they serve.

Guided by the principles of Brotherhood, Scholarship, Leadership, Latino Unity, and Service, Lambda Theta Phi continues to empower its members and make a lasting impact through both undergraduate and alumni involvement.

Hermandad de Sigma Iota Alpha, Inc. (SIA) is a Latina-based but not Latina exclusive sorority dedicated to empowering women through sisterhood, academic excellence, leadership, and service. Founded in 1990, SIA has grown across the United States, uniting women committed to culture, education, and community impact.

Collegiate members are actively involved on their campuses, taking on leadership roles, organizing cultural programs, and participating in meaningful service initiatives. These experiences help build the skills and confidence needed for academic and professional success.

Alumnae continue this impact beyond graduation, serving as leaders, mentors, and advocates in fields such as education, healthcare, law, business, and public service. Through their work, the women of SIA remain committed to uplifting their communities and creating lasting change.

5K Mission Statement

The Fuego y Fuerza Mutual Aid 5K is a community-driven event dedicated to uplifting at risk families across Maryland. Organized by Lambda Theta Phi Latin Fraternity, Inc., Hermandad de Sigma Iota Alpha, Inc., and the Audelia Community Response Team, the event raises funds to provide essential resources and direct support to families in need.

5K Vision Statement

We envision the Fuego y Fuerza Mutual Aid 5K as an annual event that unites individuals, families, and organizations around a shared commitment to wellness and community support. Through collaboration and advocacy, we aim to expand resources for at-risk families, raise awareness of key social issues, and strengthen the Latine community.

Funds raised this year will support Audelia Community’s Hydroponics Program, helping families in Montgomery and Prince George’s County grow their own fresh produce through sustainable, land-free gardening methods.
