The Tri-Cities Family YMCA invites you to join us for the Coast Guard City USA Run! Whether you are an avid racer or an occasional walker, there is something for everyone and all ages are welcome. Our races consist of a US Track & Field certified 5K Run/Walk, a 10K Run/Walk and a 1 Mile Family Fun Run/Walk (be sure to bring your wagon or stroller). Join us for this fun family event as we promote healthy lifestyles and building community in the Tri-Cities area! See you on the race course! 

Participants wishing to run both the 5k and 10k events only need to register for one event.  Our timing system will register times for both at no extra charge!

Packet Pick Up

***Please note Family Registration pricing ends at midnight on Wednesday, July 27th***

PACKET PICK UP/LATE REGISTRATION will take place on Friday, July 29 from 3:00-6:30 pm and Saturday, July 30 beginning at 6:30 am at the Tri-Cities Family YMCA, 1 Y Drive in Grand Haven.

All packets must be picked up by 9:00 am. Packets/T-shirts will not be held for those who do not show up.  

Age Groups and Awards

10K and 5K Male & Female, Masters, Age 8 and under, 9-10, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 and over. Medals can be picked up following the race at the designated tent or the following week at the Welcome Center. No awards will be presented in the One Mile Fun Run.

1 Mile Fun Run/Walk

The 1 Mile Family Fun Run/Walk is a non-competitive run/walk for the entire family (strollers and wagons welcome).  We offer both a T-shirt and No-shirt option for the 1 mile Family Fun Run/Walk.

Please allow time for parking. The YMCA lots will close by 6:30 am. If you have parked at the YMCA, you will not be able to exit until 10:30 am. Parking in local municipal lots and city streets is advised. It is safe to estimate a 10-15 minute walk to the YMCA.

Weather Policy

In the event of inclement weather, events will be delayed in 15 minute increments. If the 5k race has not been started by 8:30 am, all events will be cancelled.

Race Course

The race begins near the corner of Sherman Avenue and Mulligan Drive just east of the Tri-Cities Family YMCA.  All events conclude in front of the YMCA.  The course is challenging, with varied terrain, and offers the beautiful scenery of Lake Michigan and Grand Haven. The 5k route is US Track & Field Certified.

Aide Stations will be located at Duncan Woods (5K and 10K) and Harbor Island (10K). Water and Gatorade will be available at Aide Stations and at the Finish Line. 

Please note this is an open course. Please be mindful of possible traffic and respectful of volunteers and public safety officials directing runners-it is for your safety.

We do not allow dogs at any of the race events.  

Jogging Strollers

We do allow jogging strollers, but please line up at the rear of the starting line.  

Family Discount

We do offer a family discount for up to 4 participants at $75 total.  Simply register the first participant, then select Multiple Person pricing and add the others.  This option expires at 11:59 pm July 28th.  

Race Shirts

Our race shirts are a popular soft tri-blend. Shirts are not guaranteed-the sooner you register, the more likely you are to get your preferred size. The women's shirts run a bit small, therefore we recommend choosing one size up from what you might typically wear.  

The cut-off date to be guaranteed a shirt is July 15th.
