About Lory's Place:
Since the opening of Lory’s Place bereavement programs in 2004, we have been honored to support over 45,000 children and adults after the death of a significant person. Our programs reach beyond our facility doors offering over 70 peer support groups in Allegan, Berrien, Cass and Van Buren Counties.
Last year, our response to Covid-19 created many challenges and opportunities. People found themselves grieving and alone, unable to participate in their groups at our center or in the community. We adjusted our care, providing our peer groups virtually and offered individualized support resulting in supportive services for close to 5500 children, teens, and adults. No matter what, we will continue to offer our expertise and professional support to our community and with your help no one will grieve alone.
About this Race:
This is the 17th anniversary of the Lory's Place Run, Walk and Rock to benefit Lory's Place, a Grief Healing and Education Center of Caring Circle, of Spectrum Health Lakeland. Every year, Lory’s Place is honored and grateful for the community’s support of Run Walk Rock. All of the programs and services at Lory’s Place are available at no charge. That means that no child or adult is ever turned away because of an inability to pay. The children, adults, and families who are part of Lory’s Place join us in expressing deepest gratitude to you for supporting our mission of grief healing.
The course will take runners and walkers through the Edgewater Development. Come and race beside sailboats in the marina, along the river, past Lake Michigan and its sandy beaches, down the historical brick streets of Ridgeway, and into parts of St. Joseph’s newest developments. All race events will begin and end at Lory’s Place in St. Joseph.
Please park in the Whirlpool Tech Center parking lot located south of Momany Drive on Upton Drive.
