Lory's Place 5K Run, Walk, & Ride has gone to a ALL VIRTUAL RACE!
Your health and safety are very important to us and with that in mind, we invite you to participate in our annual 5k in a new way this year. While we hope we are back to our traditional event in 2021, this year, we will Run, Walk and RIDE to support our grieving families, friends and neighbors. Since our option to rock will be missing for our participants who prefer not to walk or run, we added the possibility to ride.
You can ride a bike, ride in your car, wagon, skateboard, whatever has wheels and decorate it in memory of your person who died. Make sure to share your “Ride” on social media so we can all experience it together and don’t forget to tag Lory’s Place.
The virtual 5K will launch on September 26 and be open for two weeks. Each person who registers to Run Walk or Ride will be provided with a t-shirt, that will be available by October 16th. We will post our course for you to use, you can pick your own, or even hop on a treadmill.
Registration will be open until midnight on Friday, September 25, 2020.
Runners and walkers (receive a t-shirt and bib)
Before September 1st - $25 per person
After September 1st - $30 per person
Riders (receive a t-shirt)$15 per person
About Lory's Place:
Since the opening of Lory’s Place bereavement programs in 2004, we have been honored to support over 40,000 children and adults after the death of a significant person. Our programs reach beyond our facility doors offering over 65 peer support groups in Allegan, Berrien, Cass and Van Buren Counties.
In 2019, with the support of our community, grief support was provided for 139 children and teens and 420 adults at our location. Twenty-three children engaged in Camp Lifetimes and 994 individuals in our community/school outreach groups. We served 3,133 community contacts which includes immediate support following a crisis in a school or business, educational opportunities, and community collaborations. Lory’s Place continually seeks opportunities to share our expertise and compassionate grief support. You can make a real difference!
Families or groups of four or more, receive $5 off each registration until September 24th. We will not be having our Champions for Children Challenge in 2020.
T-shirts will be provided to those that register to run, walk or ride by September 25 at 11:59pm.
