Pelican River Pheasants Forever -- Hustle For Habitat
Join us for the 1st Ever Hustle For Habitat event that includes the Rooster Run 5K and 1 Mile Strut on Saturday, July 20, 2024.
Location: Dunvilla Trap Range, 21863 Highway 34 (MN-34), Pelican Rapids, 56572
Directions: From Lakeland General Store (22438 Old 59 Rd, Pelican Rapids, MN 56572), turn west on Highway 34. Turn right into the trap range.
The Pelican River chapter of Pheasants Forever is excited to host the Hustle For Habitat event that includes the Rooster Run 5K and 1 Mile Strut races. Pheasants Forever is known as the "The Habitat Organization" and each chapter decides how all funds raised will be used to support local habitat. The Pelican River chapter will donate the proceeds from this event to local habitat conservation projects, including the Conservation Education program which was developed to grow an informed public that appreciates and supports wildlife habitat conservation and the benefits it provides to clean water, clean air, soil protection and a healthy environment to live in.

Race Day Schedule
Here is the schedule for Race Day, July 20, 2024:
- Same Day Registrations and Packet Pick Up begins at 7:30 AM
- 1 Mile Strut: 9:00 AM
- Rooster Run 5K: 9:30 AM
- Awards: 11:00 AM (or following the last person finishing the 5K race)
After the races, stay around to enjoy fun, music, and delicious food from our vendors!
ROOSTER RUN 5K
The 5K is a chip timed race on a trail. Open to all ages. Awards are given to the Overall Winners (Men and Women) and the Top 3 Men and Top 3 Women finishers by specified age categories (see below). All 5K runners registered prior to July 10, 2024, will receive a newly designed race t-shirt.
AGE CATEGORIES:
Awards are given to the Overall Winners (Men and Women); and the Top 3 Men and Top 3 Women finishers in each of the following Age Categories: 12 and Under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+

Jan 19 - Apr 30, 2024 $30
May 1 - July 10, 2024 $35
July 11- July 17, 2024 $40
July 20, 2024 $50 (Same Day registration onsite)
Note: Registration fee includes a race t-shirt, guaranteed to those registered by 7/10/24.
RACE TIMING AND RESULTS
The Rooster Run 5K race is chip-timed with Pickle Events. Results will be available at www.pickleevents.com or by clicking the Results menu item on this screen.
1 MILE STRUT
The 1 Mile is a fun Run/Walk on a trail. Open to all ages. This is a great event for anyone wanting to participate and join the fun without having to do the longer route. This is not a timed race. All finishers will receive a participation award.

HUSTLE FOR HABITAT COMBO
The Pelican River chapter is offering a special "Hustle For Habitat" combination registration where the entire fee will be donated to the Pheasants Forever mission of local habitat conservation and education. The "Hustle For Habitat" registration includes:
- one registration for the 1 Mile Strut
- one registration in the Rooster Run 5K
- one annual Pheasants Forever membership
- newly designed Hustle For Habitat t-shirt
- special-edition Rooster Run 5K race socks (very cool and great quality!)
If you select the "Hustle For Habitat" Registration, you will be registered for the 1 Mile Strut and Rooster Run 5K, and you will be contacted regarding your Pheasants Forever membership. The "Hustle For Habitat" registration fee is $150 for Adults or $125 for Youth (ages 17 years and under).

FOOD AND BEVERAGE
All registered 5K and 1 Mile participants will be provided with water and refreshments at the Finish Line.
All registered 5K runners will be given a ticket for a menu item available from a food vendor after the race.
Spectators can purchase food from the food vendors, if desired.
Beverages will be available for purchase.
Packet Pickup
You can pick up your race packet on race day, Saturday July 20, from 7:30-9:00 am
Same Day Registrations start at 7:30 am.
Note that Same Day Registration fees are:
- Rooster Run 5K - $50
- 1 Mile Strut - $25
- Hustle For Habitat Combo - $150 (Adult) or $125 (Youth) - same as regular registration
