Description
Join us for ConnectAbility of MN’s Break the Barrier 5K & 1K for every body. This inclusive event is geared towards the whole family. Whether you're running, walking, rolling, or strolling, this event is about breaking down barriers and building a supportive community.
Tours & Vendors
- Our building will be open to the public for tours of our Assistive Technology & Mobility Lab
- The event parking lot will have free snacks, water, and community resource booths.
Early Bird Signup - Free Shirt
- Free event shirts will be provided to all 5K and 1K participants who register by May 15, 2026.
Free Medals
- Medals will be given to all participants at the finishline

- On day of event please arrive 15 - 20 minutes before your event start time.
5K Run starts at 8:00am
5K Walk starts at - 9:00am
1K starts at - 10:00am
- At the event tent, you will sign in and receive your t-shirt (if applicable) and bib.

5K Map Route
Both 5K events will start and end in ConnectAbility of MN’s parking lot. Participants will run, walk, or roll down 3rd Street, then turn left onto 31st Avenue. Take another left onto 4th Street, followed by a left onto 28th Avenue.
Continue on 28th Avenue until you reach the roundabout marked with cones, then turn left onto 2nd Street. At the crossroads, turn left onto 33rd Avenue and continue until you reach 5th Street. Turn right onto 5th Street, where you will reach the water tent. This marks the halfway point of the 5K. Volunteers will be there playing music and providing water for participants and dogs.
To begin the return route, continue back down 5th Street and turn left onto 34th Avenue. About halfway down 34th Avenue, you will see a driveway on the right with a turn sign. Take this driveway, which connects to 33rd Avenue. Turn left and continue down 33rd Avenue.
When you reach 2nd Street again, turn right and continue. At the roundabout, turn right onto 28th Avenue. Partway down 28th Avenue, follow directions to turn right onto 4th Street. 4th Street will connect to 31st Avenue—turn right. Then take another right onto 3rd Street, where you’ll see the blue arch marking the finish line.
1K Map Route
The 1K event will start and end in ConnectAbility of MN’s parking lot. Participants will run, walk, or roll down 3rd Street, then turn left onto 31st Avenue. Take another left onto 4th Street, followed by a left onto 28th Avenue. Once you see 3rd street, you will take a left and head towards the blue arch marking the finish line.
