Annual Fun Run for Charities

Sat September 3, 2022 Red Lodge, MT 59068 US

Fun Run 19 will be an in-person event, but we are keeping the option to run it "virtually", should you choose.

See below for details on running the race virtually.

Our main goal is to raise funds for 65 AWESOME Carbon County charities! From Arts and Historic Preservations to Youth, the Great Outdoors and Community Health & Safety, there is a cause for everyone. You don't have to pick just one either! You can support multiple charities or donate to the Sally Martin Match Fund and your gift will be distributed between all 65 charities.

Ready, set...give!

Last year, YOU all helped us raise more then $240,000 for nearly 60 nonprofits. In all, you've helped us raise more then $3 million in the last 17 years! We're hoping you'll help us continue the trend this year, by participating in person OR virtually.

Last year, with the global health climate, we offered the Fun Run virtually, and many of you spoke out and asked us to continue doing so this year. We're working with our local health officers and monitoring the pandemic and are hopeful to offer the Fun Run in person AND virtually in 2022!

The same as last year, you'll be able to do your own race, on your own time, at your own pace if you choose to run/walk virtually! Donating is still as easy as previous years, and all of your favorite charities are still looking forward to your donations!

With the virtual race, you can run or walk the traditional Fun Run course at the time before noon on September 3rd, or elect to complete a 5k, 10k, or 2 Mile walk route of your choosing. You can also participate with in-person runners and walkers on September 4th. Prizes will be awarded to overall and age-category winners that complete the traditional Fun Run course and submit their times. ALL participants will still receive a Fun Run T-shirt!

What to know about running a virtual Fun Run

  • What is a Virtual Race?
    • Virtual Races are an alternative to in-person events. They allow participants to complete a run/walk on their own day, time, and route.
  • How do I participate?
    • Sign up using the link above and select the event distance you’d like to run/walk -5k, 10k, or 2 Mile. Once registered, you have until September 5th to complete your selected run/walk. You can follow the traditional Fun Run route (please be aware, we do not manage traffic or have course volunteers for a virtual race) or run a route of your choosing that corresponds to the distance you selected. Once you’ve completed your route, submit your time, and receive a finisher certificate. Prizes will be awarded and mailed by mid-September.
  • Can I still donate?
    • Yes, our main goal is still to raise funds! We are accepting donations for 56 amazing Carbon County charities this year. Donations can be made here.
  • How do I get my T-shirt?
    • Pickup dates will be: Sept. 2nd and 3rd from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Red Lodge Area Community Foundation, located at 122 S Hauser Ave. Red Lodge, MT. Shirts will also be available for pickup the morning of the race, Sept. 4th, from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m.
  • How do I know where/when to run?
    • You get to decide! Find a time and day that works for your schedule. You can run/walk the traditional Fun Run route or create your own 5k, 10k, or 2 Mile route.
  • How do I submit my results?
    • Easy! Visit this page again and simply click the Results then click the blue ‘Submit Virtual Results’ button on the top right of the page.
  • Do I have to time myself?
    • Nope! You can run/walk for fun without timing yourself. Please still submit that you completed the route (see the previous question) so we can know how many participants we have.
  • Are there still prizes?
    • Yes! Prizes will be announced on September 5th and available for pick up or delivery.
  • How do I view the results?
    • You can view all results by clicking the Results tab above. Please note, the results will be updated daily but the final results will not be posted until September 5th.
  • I won a race/age category, how do I get my prize?
    • If you won a race or your age category and didn’t receive a notification, please contact
  • Do you have a map of the suggested routes?
