The June 11, 2022 event will have options of a 50 Mile team relay, 50 Mile Hand Cyclist or individual race lengths of 50 Mile, 50K, 30K, 12K, or 5K. The various race lengths begin along the abandoned Northern Pacific Railroad and Milwaukee Railroad grades tracking from Mullan, Idaho and ending in St, Regis, Montana. The beginning of the 50-mile course follows the historic state line. The route then tracks over two breathtaking historical train trestles and dives under two tunnels. The final portions of the course parallel and weave along the scenic St. Regis River before everyone finishes at the St. Regis Community Park with visiting, music, delicious free food and beer!
All participants will receive a t-shirt, individual 50-Mile runners will receive a finishers jacket as long as they are registered on or before April 10th. Trail Rail Run will make every effort to provide individual, 50-Mile Finishers a jacket, however, any registration after April 1st, will not be guaranteed a jacket.
Proceeds will support the further improvement of the trail and the surrounding community!
The Trail Rail Run is an event brought to you in part by St. Regis Community Center, USDA Forest Service, Lolo NF, Superior Ranger District, and is sanctioned by USA Track & Field.
With the unanswered questions and impossible planning as our country continues to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic challenges will be expected when planning races for 2021. Much like the challenges we faced last year when planning the Trail Rail Run. However, having the event on a smaller scale last year made planning during such a pandemic something we are prepared to work with. Clearly, none of us know what is in store with the COVID-19 pandemic but we will continue to monitor and update you as soon as we are able.
If any new or increased gathering events continue through June the race may have to be modified to follow the restrictions through timing waves, extra shuttles etc.
I will provide updates as appropriate through the Trail Rail Run Facebook and website.
