Race Day Sign In and Crew Area Setup
- Onsite bib pickup and crew area setup begins at 6:00 AM on race day
- Crew area is limited to a 10' x 10' area, which is the standard space provided at most official backyard ultra events.
- As competitors exit this area, remaining runners and their crew can expand their area as needed.
- Parking is available directly next to the crew area for easy access. The roads at Shawan Downs are dirt and gravel, but are pretty well packed down. Most vehicles should have no problem on these roads when dry, but any vehicle with low clearance may not be ideal.
- No electrical plugins are available on site for competitors.
FoodÂ
- The race will provide water, Gatorade, ice, and a few light snacks. Competitors are expected to meet their own nutritional needs.
- Competitors and their crew must clean up their crew area before departing the race. The race organizers will haul away trash after the event ends as long as it is deposited in our large trash bags.
- Cooking is acceptable on site using propane grills and other clean cooking methods. No charcoal grills or wood fires are permitted because of the potential damage to the site.
- There are food options nearby, including John Brown's store that is within walking distance, located directly next to Shawan Downs. A short drive away is a large shopping center with a Wegman's grocery store and a number of quick service restaurants.
Aid and Comfort
- Portable toilets will be available for competitors and crew next to the crew area.
- We will have basic first aid supplies at the start/finish area and an AED.
