McKirdy Micro Marathon: Road to Tokyo
Rockland Lake State Park
March 30, 2025
Our mission: To provide the greatest opportunity for athletes to achieve an elite marathon standard. We know that the viable options to run an elite standard are limited and even then, the support system for non “elite” athletes to achieve their best can be limited to non-existent. McKirdy Micro Marathon - Road to Tokyo is designed to be the best option to run fast, increase your World Athletics Rankings, or even run the World Championship Standard. Our race will be the ONLY RACE in the country with a total "in-race" support concept in mind for all participating athletes!
We are World Athletics Certified (World Athletics Certification #USA-2023-071). This certification will allow for the World Championship Standard and National Record performances to be valid.
The location of our race is the best place in the country to host a "time trial" marathon. The looped course is flat. The road surface is conducive for fast times. We have every "controllable" action in place. The only thing left will be the weather. GENERALLY we see great early mornings in the Northeast - but like anywhere else in the world - great weather is never a guarantee.

Small, but Not Lonely
The McKirdy Micro Road to Tokyo marathon has a 225 athlete cap. It's a small race, but not a lonely one. When everyone has the same goal with dedicated pacers, you simply hop in line and hang on for as long as you want. You're working with others, rather than running a solo effort.
Since it's a 2.94 mile looped course, it also makes spectating incredibly easy for your friends and family!
