What is MomsTRI? MomsTRI is an achievable and exciting race designed for all women, with a focus on encouraging first-time triathletes, beginners and “non-athletes”. MomsTRI is less of a race and more of an experience, an accomplishment, a chance to do something hard, instead of wishing you could do it!
When is MomsTRI Virtual Sprint Triathlon/5K/10K? MomsTRI Spring 2021Virtual Events can be completed anytime between March 5th and June 1st.
What is a sprint triathlon? A sprint triathlon includes a 400 meter swim, a 12-mile bike ride and a 3 mile run, usually in that order.
What if I don’t have a swimming pool or a safe place for a 12-mile bike ride? That’s no problem! You can substitute one activity for another, such as hiking instead of swimming or biking or you can bike, run, bike. Whatever you choose to do, be sure to keep your safety in mind. Follow all safety rules for riding or running on roads and sidewalks and please wear a helmet.
What is a 5K or 10K? 5 kilometers is a common running distance of 3.1 miles and 10 kilometers is 6.2 miles.
What is a virtual race? Virtual races happen all the time, and allow you to join the fun without the crowds. You simply complete a sprint triathlon, 5K, or 10K on your own and enter your times on the Results tab in the main menu. If you’re registered for the sprint triathlon, enter the time it took for you to complete each activity. If you substituted swimming with another activity, enter your alternative activity time in the swim category. There is no need to include any "transition" times (such as the time it takes for you to get your shoes & helmet on after you finish swimming) for your virtual race.
How do I submit my race time for the MomsTRI Leaderboard? When you’ve completed your 5K, 10K, or sprint triathlon, go to the Results tab in the MomsTRI menu. Click on Submit Virtual Results and search for your registration by first and last name or by email address and date of birth. When you find your registration, select Submit Virtual Results and enter your time for your 5K/10K or the times for the three events in your sprint triathlon.
What is included in a virtual race registration? Each participant will receive our 2021 MomsTRI shirt and finisher’s jewelry. You can upgrade your swag to a MomsTRI tank for an additional $5 or purchase one in addition to your free shirt. Swag will ship in the first week of June. If your shipping address changes after you register, please update the address in your REGISTRATION, in addition to your profile. Your profile address is private and we will only see the shipping address attached to your registration. Please be sure to email us if your shipping address changes after May 15th, or if you have difficulty changing it in your registration, so we can ensure you get your swag. MomsTRI is not responsible for packages shipped to outdated addresses.
Can I defer my registration to another race? Registrations may be deferred one time for medical reasons, with a doctor’s note. There is no charge for a medical deferral if you contact us before May 15th. After May 15th, there will be a $25 fee. If you deferred your 2020 registration due to COVID-19, we are unable to defer your registration again. Please email us at MomsTRIaz@gmail.com for more information.
What is your refund policy? MomsTRI is a non-refundable event. Thanks to the flexibility of a virtual event, you can complete your race whenever it’s convenient for you! If you would like your race results to be listed on our leaderboard, you will need to finish and submit them by 11:59PM on June 1st.
Please be sure to get approval from a medical professional before beginning a new exercise training program.
