Want to be a Vac & Dash Streaker?  It's easy, all you have to do is run a mile each day during 2019 and you will become a member of the 4th Vac & Dash Streaker Club Team.  Anyone is eligible to participate.

You can register for the Vac & Dash Streaker Challenge from January 2nd to January 15th for $35.00.  However, the streak started on January 1st, so as long as you have been running at least a mile a day starting on January 1st, you can enter.

THE CHALLENGE

The rules are simple, run at least a mile a day, each and every day of 2019.  You can run  on either the roads, a track, trails, or on a treadmill.  One question always comes up, do you have to run the mile consecutively without stopping.  Use your judgement. Example, if you are out and running a mile, and your shoe lace becomes undone, it's ok to stop and tie your shoe. The same goes for traffic. If you running and have to stop for a car before continuing on your run, that's ok. 

NEW FOR 2019:

1- Inspired by Lisa Fowler's 1,000 days of Vac & Dash Streaking, Vac & Dash has started the Vac & Dash 1,000 Day Streaker Milestone. She has earned  special Streaker Club prizes as being the first runner to reach the impressive milestone. (Details to follow on the prizes.)

2- We will have a monthly drawings for those that are continuing the streak and have checked the monthly spreadsheet that they are still streaking.  Drawings will range from Vac & Dash merchandise to gift cards and prizes from other merchants.

3 - Streaker discounts to various races throughout the year.  $5.00 off the following races:  Albemarle - YMCA Hot Chocolate 8K,  Vac & Dash 2.2-Mile Groundhog Day Classic,  YMCA 5K for Strong Communities,  Vac & Dash April Fools Day 5K Classic, Vac & Dash Moonlight 5K    $10.00 off Vac & Dash Moonlight 10-Miler, Vac & Dash Moonlight Double Feature 1/2 Marathon (More discounts to follow.)

Cost is $30.00 to enter.  If you register by midnight January  you will receive a 2019 Vac & Dash Calendar at no charge.  The calendar has a $10.00 value and is a great tool to motivate you to streak.

You can register between January 2nd until January 15th for $35.00,  However, you must have ran a mile a day beginning January 1st to be eligible to compete.  

KEEPING TRACK

Starting on January 1st, you must log at least one mile of running per day, completing the mission on December 31st, 2019.  Please note, that walking, swimming or riding a bike does not apply toward the streak.  

At the end of each month, you will be sent an e-mail with a link to a google docs spreadsheet to put a check into a box to let me know that you ran each day of the particular month.  

THE PRIZE

Those that run for 365 days, earn an awesome Vac & Dash Streaker Club Sweatshirt and Medal.

We have a special Vac & Dash Streaker Challenge Facebook page to help inspire you to streak on.  Runners from throughout the United States are welcome to participate in the Vac & Dash Streaker Challenge.

We will have an award ceromony at 12:30 am at Vac & Dash on December 31, 2019 for those that complete the streak.  As we are doing this year, we will have a 1-Mile Run on December 30, 2019 at 11:30 pm at Vac & Dash.  After a slight rest, we will host a 1-Mile Run on December 31, 2019 at 12:01 am for the final run of the year. 

If you can't make the awards ceremony, we will ship your awards to you.
