A toast to the Kiwanis Club of Asheville as we celebrate the 21st year of our race on the Estate. This majestic course should be on every runners bucket list! Starting at the estate winery, we will wind through scenic property, passing by America's oldest private residence and through the fragrant gardens, taking in the undisturbed beauty that the Vanderbilts fell in love with over a century ago.

General Information

Race Day: We will be the first visitors on the Estate on the morning of the race. While the Estate will open shortly after our race begins, vehicular traffic will be limited and controlled. Runners and their vehicles will not be allowed past the guard station past 7:00 a.m. on race day. Please make sure you are on the Estate and making your way to Antler Village before this cutoff time. Coffee and other items will be for sale by the Biltmore Estate at the starting line beginning at 6:30 a.m. If you plan to run/walk the 15K, please note that you must have passed by the house by 9:00 a.m. All participants that do not make that time cut off will be swept from the course. All participants must be off the course before 9:45 a.m.

PACKET PICK-UP

Due to the Chihuly exhibit at Biltmore and several other major events in Biltmore Village the weekend of the race, we have decided to move packet pick-up to the South Slope in downtown. Packet pick-up will be May 19th from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Twin Leaf Brewery located at 144 Coxe Avenue Asheville 28801. If you intend to pick your race packet up the morning of the race, we will have packets at the Group Sales Office parking lot on the Estate beginning at 6:00 a.m. A friendly Kiwanian will be posted to help direct you! If you need to pick up the morning of I would suggest you arrive early to avoid being stuck in traffic!

The pasta dinner add-on by Strada will be from 5:00 p.m.- 7:00 p.m. at the brewery. I already have my ticket! You should grab yours now for a stress free, delicious dinner!

We have added several new upgrades for runners and their crew this year! Please be sure to take the time to look these over as they will go quickly!

The 5K and the 15K courses have been USATF certified. Each runner will receive a bib with a chip attached to record their time.

If you wish to go for a pre-race run on the Estate, you must be a ticketed guest, a season pass holder, or an Estate hotel guest. A day pass will not be issued with your registration. Runners will be given a pass to enter the Estate the morning of the race, which allows entrance to the race location. Running trails/paths are accessible from Antler Village. Due to safety and security concerns, runners should stay off the main roads and roads marked for restricted access. A spectator ticket is required for each guest that is not running the race or that is not volunteering. These tickets may be purchased at packet pick-up from a Biltmore Estate representative. The cost per race day spectator ticket is $23 plus tax.

Biltmore Kiwanis Classic Course Map

General

Both races are run entirely on the scenic grounds of the Biltmore Estate. During the event, vehicular traffic will be limited and controlled. Both courses are USATF certified. Chip timing will be used for both races. Pre-race training prior to the event is prohibited since the entire course is on paved roads with heavy vehicular traffic and on the private property of the Biltmore Estate. Due to directional flow for traffic, it will not be possible to drive the course as it is to be run. All participants must be off the course prior to 9:45 a.m.

15K Course Description

15K COURSE (9.3 miles): The 15K course is run entirely on the scenic grounds of the Biltmore Estate. Beginning at the Winery Village area, the course climbs to the Deerpark Restaurant then descends and climbs along the main road to Biltmore House, where runners will loop in front of its massive front doors. Runners will then circle through the Walled Garden, pass by the Azalea Garden and lagoon along the French Broad River, and finish by returning to the Winery. The first half of the course has two challenging hills, while the second half is downhill-to-flat.

5K Course Description

5K COURSE (3.1 miles): The 5K course is run entirely on the scenic grounds of the Biltmore Estate. The 5K Course is a flat, out-and-back course starting at the Winery and paralleling the French Broad River. It is a great course to get a running PR!
