CANCELED: Cornelius Small Business 5K Stroll
We wanted to personally thank you for being willing to participate in the first-ever Cornelius Small Business 5K Stroll. Your openness to be part of something new and community-driven truly meant a lot.
After careful consideration, we’ve made the difficult decision to cancel the event, as we did not reach the participation numbers needed to make it worthwhile for your business and the experience we hoped to create.
All participant registrations will be fully refunded.
Our intention from the start was to celebrate Cornelius Small Businesses and drive meaningful traffic and visibility - and without the right scale, we didn’t feel we could deliver on that in a way that respected your time and investment.
That said, the mission remains the same. We will encourage the community to get out on May 9 and continue to support local - stopping into businesses, shopping, dining, and showing their support.
We truly believe in this concept and may look to revisit it in the future - ideally at a time when we are both not in college and with fewer calendar conflicts and stronger participation.

Cornelius Small Business 5K Stroll - Saturday, May 9, 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Lace up your walking shoes and get ready to experience the best of Cornelius - one small business at a time! The Cornelius Small Business 5K Stroll is a self-guided walking celebration of some of our incredible local business community. Discover unique stops and enjoy samples, tastings, and special offers from businesses that make Cornelius a one-of-a-kind place to live and visit.
This is like a shotgun start in golf - participants are assigned different starting locations and travel through their route order so be sure to add the names of anyone you want to stroll with you.

- 5K Stroll with bites, sips, and samples from local businesses along the way - including
- Lake Norman Nutrition, Torrence & Knox, Dive Bar, Caffeto Specialty Coffee, Harp & Crown, Andy's Custard, In-Motion, The UPS Store, Brooklyn South, Chicken Salad Chick, Al's Bar and Grille, etc.
- Official Cornelius Small Business 5K Stroll Passport - fill it up and enter to win prizes.
- Event t-shirt
