The 9th Annual Run For Resilience Ostomy 5k Run/Walk will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2023 on the scenic American Tobacco Trail in Durham, NC. The start/finish line will be held on the grassy knoll area in front of Haverty's Furniture at 8160 Renaissance Parkway Durham, NC. The race will take you from the start/finish area on to the American Tobacco Trail north, crossing over I-40 with the turn around near the Crooked Creek Trailhead on the ATT. This is an out and back course that is certified by the USATF. There is a gradual hill at the beginning and then mostly flat running with a downhill portion near the end. This is a family friendly event with DJ, kids dash, kids activities, and a fantastic silent auction with local sports tickets and memorabilia, restaurant gift cards, crafts, gift baskets, etc.
All proceeds will benefit the United Ostomy Association of America (UOAA) a 501 3(c) non-profit charity that helps patients living with an ostomy or continent diversion through support, education and advocacy. For more information regarding ostomies visit UOAA's website at www.ostomy.org.

Race registration bags will have typical race/sponsor promotional items, ostomy education materials, and most importantly an ostomy pouch provided by one or more of our sponsors. We encourage non-ostomate participants to put on a pouch for the race to improve awareness and empathy for the challenges faced by people living with ostomies.
Once you’ve registered you have the option to CREATE a new RACE GROUP/TEAM or to JOIN one that’s already been established. This is a great way to get others in your community to Register to Participate in the Run and compete against each other. Invite family, friends, co-workers to Register, pick to be on your Race Group/Team (or start their own), order their T-Shirt & Bib and celebrate the day with you! (Please note this is NOT a Team Fundraiser. To set up a Personal or Team Fundraiser, please go to the DONATE button.)
Fundraising is an important aspect of our Run for Resilience Ostomy 5K. Funds raised help UOAA continue to provide resources, educational materials, advocacy and support to the ostomy and continent diversion community.
We invite you to set up your own Personal or Team Fundraiser when registering to participate in the event, or through our DONATE button at the top of this page.
