Wilmington Historic Half, 10K & 5K

Race Day:

Saturday, December 7, 2024

 

The 7th Annual Wilmington Historic Half Marathon, 10K & 5K will take place on Saturday December 7th, 2024. Starting in the heart of downtown, runners will take a beautiful, closed course through the streets as they see the true southern beauty in Historic Wilmington, North Carolina.  After 2.5 miles of downtown running, the 5K splits off to the boardwalk to finish while the Half Marathon will continue straight over 3 bridges and around a scenic lake before finishing down one of the nation's top-rated boardwalks! The 10K splits after the 3rd bridge and heads down the boardwalk to the finish line!

 

Take on the Historic Challenge:

Run both the 5K & Half Marathon and earn all the swag! (16.2 miles)

Challenge registration includes: Race bib, Half Marathon finishers medal, long sleeve tech shirt, 5K finishers medal, Challenge slider and bonus swag gift!

*If you are running the Challenge, you must complete the 5K under 45 min. in order to be at the Half Marathon start line by 7:45. There will be no late starts.

You can plan on a good time at our Finish Line After Party! Race Bash is bringing all the fun and even some surprises...you don't want to miss it! Hosted at Riverfront Park, the after-party includes beer from Wrightsville Beach Brewery & wraps from Tropical Smoothie Cafe (you will have voucher tabs on your bib for these). The after-party will run until at 11:30 AM. See you there!!

There are over 10,000 public parking spots in Downtown Wilmington Click Here for a complete list of available parking.  (Don't park along the race route or if there is a covered meter or sign.)

 

Awards: 

Every participant will earn a finisher medal! In addition to that, we would like to celebrate some of our top runners! Stop by the Awards Tent (at the finish line) to pick up your award! (We will not have a ceremony due to the different start times of the races.) We will offer awards for 1st, 2nd & 3rd Overall Male/Female; 1st, 2nd & 3rd Masters Male/Female for all races, as well as the top 3 in age groups using 5 year age brackets.

 

Course Information: 

All 3 courses are certified and sanctioned.

The time limit for the 5K is 90 minutes and 3.5 hours for the 10K and Half Marathon.
