What is the Deacon Dash?
This will be our 10th annual 3-2-1 Deacon Dash for Down Syndrome and we are all excited to be back together again! The 3-2-1 Deacon Dash for Down Syndrome is a 5K race fundraising event with an extra .11 mile added for a 3.21 total distance for the awareness and support of individuals with Down syndrome! Most people have 2 copies of 23 different chromosomes, but individuals with Down syndrome are born with 3 copies of the 21st chromosome (the medical term for this is Trisomy 21).
Please join us on Saturday, March 20, 2027. Fun Run starts at 9:00 a.m. and 5K starts at 9:30 a.m. at the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds.

Rock your socks for World Down Syndrome Day and the 321 Deacon Dash 5K and Fun Run! 💙💛
Why do we rock our socks? Because socks look like chromosomes! On March 21, we celebrate World Down Syndrome Day, representing the three copies of the 21st chromosome that individuals with Down syndrome have!
At the Deacon Dash, one of the best parts of race day is seeing everyone’s crazy socks! So pull out your brightest pair and get ready to rock your socks with us. We can’t wait to see them on race day! 💙💛
