Series Setup
Advanced Series Setup Instructions
Follow the instructions below if you prefer a stand-alone Race Series page which helps facilitate a single series registration. This is an advanced workaround to get the registration data in the right place but also have the website look nice and clean! Some benefits include: Simple Accounting (since all registration fees are captured by the same race), Series Only Swag (special items only for those that register for the bundle), and a single landing page for easy marketing (like having a separate domain). In the example below, there is a 3 race series that uses a 4th race to manage the series.
Race Series Example: 3 race series
Create Another Race: Create a new race (4th race) with one event for the bundle. In the same race (4th race), create and be sure to check the option for Primary Race Only which will require the participants register through the primary race in the bundle.
Consider Advanced Settings: By default, Questions and Registration Add-ons are only asked for the primary event. Set up question mapping to link similar questions within each race of the series and consider setting up a Registration Add-on if there is special Swag for participants that register for the bundle (optional).
Advanced Event Settings for the Series Race: For the extra race there are a couple of advanced options that will help with registration, display, and financial breakdowns. Set the cost of the event to $0. (Remember, the cost of the bundle was previously set up to discount each event or have a fixed registration period. By setting the extra 4th race to have an event fee of $0 it will properly divide the cost of the remaining races by 3 instead of 4.) Also make the event private so participants don't accidentally register for just the stand alone event since we want to force them through the bundle registration process. This is under Registration Options where you can set a private event code. This essentially hides the event from the race website. Registration Options settings are listed under Race >> Registration >> Dates, Pricing, & Options. Click Show to expand. Be sure to also set the Registration Period of this event so it matches when the bundle is available for registration.
Race Website View: If the above steps were followed there will just be a single Event Tile for the bundle on the Race Website. Hiding the Event Tiles on Step 5 - Your Page of the Race Wizard is also an option.
