Failure to adhere to the pet policy is grounds for disqualification. We appreciate your understanding in helping keep our event safe, inclusive, and enjoyable for everyone.
Service Animals
- In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), trained service animals are welcome at the event.
- A service animal must remain under the handler’s control at all times and be harnessed, leashed, or tethered unless these devices interfere with the service animal’s work or the handler’s disability prevents use.
- Service animals must be housebroken and non-aggressive toward other participants, spectators, or animals.

Road Crossings
- Many Negative Split events take place on city roads, and sidewalks. Please be alert while you are running. Your safety is your responsibility. Most major road crossings will be controlled by police or flaggers. Minor road crossings often do not have traffic controlled. Disqualification (DQ) Policy
Bibs
- Participants must wear their assigned bib number visibly on the front of their body at all times during the race.
- Running a race with a bib that is not registered in your name will lead to disqualification (DQ) and potential bans from future events. This practice when done without official transfer, is a serious violation of race rules for several reasons such as invalid results, medical risks, and liability.
- To avoid these issues, always follow official race procedures for name and bib transfers, or see the timing tent PRIOR to your event.
Course Adherence
- Runners must stay on the official, marked course and complete the entire distance under their own power.
- Failing to reach the designated turnaround point, taking shortcuts, or cutting switchbacks are grounds for disqualification.
- If you must leave the course for any reason, you must re-enter at the exact same spot.
