We're thrilled to launch the fourth annual 5K for FOXP1 Syndrome Awareness, bringing together participants from around the world to raise awareness and fund critical research into FOXP1 Syndrome.

What is FOXP1 Syndrome?

FOXP1 Syndrome is a rare neurodevelopmental disorder caused by a mutation or change in the FOXP1 gene, located on chromosome 3. This gene plays a key role in the development and function of the nervous system and other body systems by regulating the activity of other genes. When FOXP1 doesn’t function as it should, it can lead to a broad range of developmental challenges and medical needs.

About Us

The International FOXP1 Foundation is a registered nonprofit. We are dedicated to supporting families impacted by FOXP1 Syndrome and to funding meaningful research with the goal of finding effective therapies and, one day, a cure.

Let us come together to raise awareness for our loved ones with FOXP1 Syndrome. This is a time for us to celebrate their successes and the joys that they bring to our lives, while also teaching our communities about FOXP1 Syndrome.

🏃‍♀️ How to Participate: Virtual or In-Person
Whether you're joining us from around the world or attending a local event, participating in the FOXP1 5K is easy and meaningful!

🖥️ Virtual Race

• Choose your own location and start time.
• Complete your 5K anytime between August 15, 2024 at 12:00 AM EST and August 17, 2024 at 11:59 PM EST.
• Use the bib number sent to you at registration to log your time on the website.
• Participate individually or start a team with a fundraising goal!
• Track times and placements online as participants submit their results.

📍 In-Person Race

• Select a listed city to join your local FOXP1 5K event.
• Each location will have its own route, start time, and on-site organizer.
• Join others in your community to walk, run, or roll together for FOXP1 awareness and research.

📝 How to Register

• Click the “Sign Up” button.
• Choose Virtual Race or select an In-Person Race city.
• Complete your registration and receive your bib number and event details by email.
• Join the movement—solo or with a team—to raise awareness and support FOXP1 research!
