Description

5 miles - a flat and fast  tour of local neighborhoods on a  USATF certified course followed by an amazing post-race party both INDOORS and OUTDOORS (weather permitting) at the spacious Great South Bay Brewery facility. USATF Santioned event.
***There is a 1 hour 30  minute time limit to complete the race.

Amenities

Top quality  male and female shirts to all entrants. Unique finisher's medals for each registrant who completes the race. A "lei" station on the course. Outstanding post‑race party with hero's, baked goods and more, including Great South Bay's Company’s finest beers (as much as you can safely drink) and a live band for plenty of dancing!

A USATF sanctioned event over a USATF certified course through the local neighborhoods. 

Time limit of 1 hour 30 minutes will be enforced.

Timing and Results

Computerized scoring and timing by SRC Timing Services using the RFID computerized chip timing system. Results will be posted on SRC Timing Services  at http://srctimingservices.rsupartner.com/results and at www.glirc.org/results 

Online Registration Closing and Check-In

Online registration closes on Friday, August 16th at 6:00 PM.

Packet pick up and prerace registration is available Saturday, August 17th at the Great South Bay Brewery, 25 Drexel Drive, Bay Shore from noon to 6:00 pm. One free beer to each individual who picks up packets for themselves and others. 

Day of race packet pickup is available from 6:45 am to 8:15 am.  If there are still spots available, the cost is $65 for everyone. ABSOLUTELY NO PICKUP AFTER 8:15 AM

Awards to first 3 male and female finishers over all and first 3 male and females masters, and first 3 male and females in 5 year age groups up to 90 plus.

Participant Instructions

Welcome to the inaugural - Aloha 5 Mile Run to the Great South Bay Brewery, 25 Drexel Drive Bay Shore on SUNDAY, August 18, 2019, 8:30 AM Start. 

Packet Pickup & Registration at the Great South Bay Brewery: 
Sat., August 17th 12:00 Noon – 6:00 PM and
Sun., August 18th 6:45 AM – 8:15 AM
We highly recommend that you pick up your race packet before the race on Saturday, August 17th at the GSB Brewery. The Brewery will provide one free beer at packet pickup! You will be given a ticket for a free beer which is only valid on Saturday, at pre-race day pickup. If you are picking up for more than one person, you will only be given ONE ticket for ONE beer. YOU MUST BE 21 YEARS OR OLDER ON AUGUST 18, 2019 TO REGISTER FOR THE RACE.

***You will be given the shirt size you requested when you registered for the race. 

Important Race Day Instructions
There is a cut off time of 1.5 hours, which we will have to strictly enforce in order to comply with our permits. Runners will be allowed to finish, but will be asked to go to the side of the road, and are not guaranteed course support. 

Parking:
There will be volunteers to help direct you to parking on Drexel Drive. Please DO NOT park in the Chase Bank lot on the corner of 5th Avenue. There will be limited parking in the parking lots on Drexel Drive so plan to arrive early or look for parking in the neighborhoods off of 5th Avenue. If you plan on leaving early, please look for alternate parking in the neighborhoods as traffic on Drexel Drive will be limited with runners on the course until 10:00AM. 

Train Transportation:
8:30AM start time means you can catch the LIRR train! There is one train directly from Penn to Brentwood Train Station (2.3 miles away) at 6:12AM arrives at 7:24AM.

LYFT Ride Service:
The Great South Bay Brewery has an arrangement with LYFT for a discount to get a ride from the Brewery after the party, contact them and use code: GSBbrew.

A Course map is attached below for reference. There will be 3 water stops on the course, one Lei stop and one porta pottie which are indicated on the map.

Awards: 
Don’t forget our Aloha Costume Contest, for Best Male & Female Costumes! Keep in mind that it’s not just grass skirts (that some might feel are inappropriate). Crazy Hawaiian shirts, pineapples, and other creative approaches to the Aloha theme are most welcome! 

We are presenting awards on stage only to the first three Male and Female Open, and Male and Female Masters OA. All other award winners are invited to pick up their age group awards on a table in the tasting room of the Brewery. Results will be available on screens in the Brewery and will also be posted online at www.glirc.org and www.srctimingservices.

After Party:
JUST A REMINDER—YOU WILL NEED YOUR BIB TO ENTER THE POST RACE PARTY! NO EXCEPTIONS!

Guest Passes:
Guests are permitted to the after party for $35 per person pre-race price through August 16th; $40 at Saturday packet pick-up and on day of race, must be over 21 years old. (limit of 2 per registrant). You can purchase a Guest Pass online as an Add-on to your registration through August 16, 2019 at 6:00PM; Saturday at packet pick up and Sunday at registration, by cash or check at the Brewery. 

VIP Room:
You can purchase tickets for the VIP Room. The cost is $20 pre-race through August 16th; $25 at Saturday packet pick-up and on Day of Race, (limit of 3 per registrant) As a VIP, you are provided with a private room with bathrooms, no beer lines! Plus, areas to park your food and drink!

A few additional notes:
1. No dogs allowed on the course or to the after party 
2. No one under the age of 21 allowed to the after party. Strictly enforced!
3. There is no baggage check at the Brewery. If you leave your bag, we are not responsible for your belongings.
4. DO NOT go near the finish line with bibs that are not being used by a runner. If you are holding a bib, please take off the timing chip and discard. The chips interfere with our timer timing the race.
