About Our Title Sponsor

EisnerAmper is one of the largest full service advisory and accounting firms in the United States.  Its 2000 employees and 16 United States offices provide business organizations and individuals a comprehensive set of accounting and audit, tax, and advisory services to help them respond quickly to urgent issues, anticipate opportunities and risks, and grow profitably.  We are thrilled that  EisnerAmper shares our concern about helping those Long Islanders who have suffered the most economic pain during the pandemic, and that it is actively supporting our efforts to alleviate that pain.

Description

Sunday = RUN DAY! Dust off your favorite almost-spring singlets and trainers to run four miles in a gorgeous Long Island park, and feel good about doing it; the charitable beneficiary is GLIRC's ongoing Food Drive - a project we embarked upon at the beginning of the pandemic, and one we have embraced as part of our core mission.

As such, we would love it if our participants took the opportunity to donate nonperishable food items and personal care items at the race! There will be a collection area - please bring any donations with you and drop them off before your race begins!

As of now, based on our permit from Nassau County, we are limited to accepting registrants who reside ONLY in Nassau County Suffolk County, or from the 5 New York City Boroughs.

In the unlikely event that this stipulation changes, we will send out a notification immediately.

Thank you for understanding!

WAVE START PROCEDURE:

Start time for the event is 9:00 AM.  Waves will consist of 50 runners each and your number will indicate what wave you are assigned to. (see below)

Cones will be set up on the path 6 feet apart.  Runners will line up 3 abreast with a cone between them.    Each wave will be set up similarly as you wait to be brought to the start line. You will be asked to stand in your wave and to remain 6 feet apart from the runner on either side of you, as well as from the runner in front of and behind you. You must also keep your mask on at all times until you cross the start line.  You can take off your mask while running the race, but you MUST put your mask back on immediately after crossing the finish line.  If you don’t follow this rule, you will be asked to leave the race site and you will be disqualified.

Runners will line up at the start as directed by the Start Line Volunteers. It is colored green on the Event Map.

Runners will be assigned to waves as follows according to your bib number:

1 to 50 Wave 1
51 to 100 Wave 2
101 to 150 Wave 3
151 to 200 Wave 4
201 to 250  Wave 5

Please look at the Event Map to see where your wave will be. We will have teardrop mile markers that will correspond with your wave number, except for Wave 1 which will be the GLIRC Club teardrop. Start volunteers will be available to help you.

The race will be chip timed, and runners will be brought to the start line 3 across, and will be sent off approximately every 10 seconds. Please follow the instructions of the starting line volunteers.  Please make sure you note the time on the clock as you cross the start mat. The clock will be started when the first runners cross the start line.

COURSE:
We will have course volunteers to guide you but please pay attention to the cones and arrows (not any chalk that you may see - it is not for this race!) on the course to help guide you as well. A course map may be found HERE for your convenience.

HYDRATION/NUTRITION:
We strongly encourage you to bring your own hydration and nutrition, as there is no aid station for this event. After you finish, there will be an assortment of snacks in your finisher bag.

FINISHER GRAB AND GO BAGS:
All finishers will receive their commemorative hat and post-race refreshments (including bottled water, a banana, and snacks from All Round Foods, Bimbo, and Frito Lay ) prewrapped in a grab-and-go bag, and will be handed to you as you leave the race site. Please note where they will be available on the Event area map.
