The Cubby Chase is VIRTUAL this year, and with a few new features!
How it works: Once you sign up, you will have access to the website where you can log the miles that you ran or walked daily. We are encouraging people to stay active this summer! A leader board will be seen on the front page of everyone's ranking. This is a friendly competition, and everyone's goal is their own. Aim to get out most days of the week for your own well-being! Feel free to run or walk the Cubby Courses or any 5K or 10K distance as well! The Cubby Hill (on North Street) is always an option to include in your route (We are sure you'll all miss it!).
Cost: Sign up for one price of $25 per person. This includes a T-Shirt and a Bib with your personal number, both of which you will get before the event starts. Sign up by July 16th to guarantee getting a shirt!
When: Registration is open now. You can start logging your miles on the original Cubby Chase date, July 25th, and continue logging the miles until August 31st
Anyone, Anywhere, Any experience level can join!
The plan for this year's Cubby Chase was to honor our local First Responders in person. We were going to have a friendly competition with teams for each entity (Fire, Police, and EMS), with community participation. However, due to the current health crisis, we were not able to hold a live event, but their jobs are more important than ever. Hopefully next year we can proceed as originally intended!
For now, we are VIRTUAL, and we encourage everyone to get out and be active, while maintaining current distancing recommendations. Exercise and fresh air are good for everyone, and just what we need right now! Sign up for our Summer Cubby Challenge, and log your miles that you walked or ran!
Proceeds benefit the Jim Dooley Center or Early Learning Playground Project.

The Get Ready to Run training program is designed to safely improve your health, enhance your fitness, and prepare you to complete the 5K or 10K Cubby Chase. Training begins May 26, 2020 and signup for the training program to open in early May. The program will look a little different this year; we are going VIRTUAL. Unfortunately, given the times, we cannot meet up in a group setting, but that doesn't mean we can't train together. Videos will be posted on our running club website to guide members in static and dynamic stretches, and weekly strengthening work outs. Suggested running and walking programs will also be posted, and all stretches, exercises, and running/walking programs will be modified according to ability level, as necessary. This club is for all levels of fitness, from someone who is new to exercise, to an experienced runner! Email us with any questions, at Elizabeth.loycano@flhealth.org
