Virtual Cubby Summer Challenge, 2020

The Cubby Chase is VIRTUAL this year, and with a few new features!

How it works: Once you sign up, you will have access to the website where you can log the miles that you ran or walked daily. We are encouraging people to stay active this summer! A leader board will be seen on the front page of everyone's ranking. This is a friendly competition, and everyone's goal is their own. Aim to get out most days of the week for your own well-being! Feel free to run or walk the Cubby Courses or any 5K or 10K distance as well! The Cubby Hill (on North Street) is always an option to include in your route (We are sure you'll all miss it!).

Cost: Sign up for one price of $25 per person. This includes a T-Shirt and a Bib with your personal number, both of which you will get before the event starts. Sign up by July 16th to guarantee getting a shirt!

When: Registration is open now. You can start logging your miles on the original Cubby Chase date, July 25th, and continue logging the miles until August 31st

Anyone, Anywhere, Any experience level can join!

Here Are Your Options:

Virtual races happen all the time, and allow you to join the fun without the crowds. You simply run the distance on your own, and report your results - we’ll send you instructions.

You understand that events are expensive, even when cancelled, and you want us to keep your registration fees to help cover our costs. We deeply appreciate your generosity and look forward to seeing you at an event soon.

2020 Cubby Chase- Salute to First Responders!

The plan for this year's Cubby Chase was to honor our local First Responders in person.  We were going to have a friendly competition with teams for each entity (Fire, Police, and EMS), with community participation. However, due to the current health crisis, we were not able to hold a live event, but their jobs are more important than ever. Hopefully next year we can proceed as originally intended!

For now, we are VIRTUAL, and we encourage everyone to get out and be active, while maintaining current distancing recommendations. Exercise and fresh air are good for everyone, and just what we need right now! Sign up for our Summer Cubby Challenge, and log your miles that you walked or ran!

Proceeds benefit the Jim Dooley Center or Early Learning Playground Project.

Start Times

Start logging your miles on the original Cubby Chase Date, July 25th

End date for logging miles is August 31st

Salute to First Responders Teams

We dedicated our 2020 Cubby Chase to honor our local First Responders way before we were all affected by COVID19. As we switch to a virtual event because of this virus, it is more important than ever to thank a first responder for showing up and doing their job, which is to keep us all safe. We hope to have this event next year as an in-person event where we can do a better job saluting them! For now, keep practicing current recommended guidelines for "flattening the curve" to make their jobs easier, and boost your own immune system by getting some exercise outside!

Get Ready To Run Information

The Get Ready to Run training program is designed to safely improve your health, enhance your fitness, and prepare you to complete the 5K or 10K Cubby Chase.  Training begins May 26, 2020 and signup for the training program to open in early May.  The program will look a little different this year; we are going VIRTUAL. Unfortunately, given the times, we cannot meet up in a group setting, but that doesn't mean we can't train together. Videos will be posted on our running club website to guide members in static and dynamic stretches, and weekly strengthening work outs. Suggested running and walking programs will also be posted, and all stretches, exercises, and running/walking programs will be modified according to ability level, as necessary. This club is for all levels of fitness, from someone who is new to exercise, to an experienced runner! Email us with any questions, at
