Our intention is to give runners a “touch free” safe event in compliance with evolving COVID-19 restrictions. Guidelines for large gatherings continue to change and could be very different on race day. The Grand Island Half Marathon will continue to promote a safe event as we did in 2020 and '21. This includes encouraging mask wearing, distancing, modified water stations, sanitizing surfaces and a safe food plan. In addition the event is 100% outdoors. As protocols change, we will respond accordingly.
The Grand Island Half Marathon will be abiding by the Center for Disease Control’s (CDC) recommendations for the prevention of the spread of the 2019 Novel Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) and other communicable diseases. As such, masking and mass gathering guidelines will be adopted by the event as these guidelines change.
The CDC’s guidance can be reviewed at: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prepare/prevention.html
