The Rush-Henrietta Athletic Association, in conjunction with the Rush-Henrietta Area Food Terminal (RHAFT) and the Town of Henrietta Recreation Department, invite you to participate in the 4th annual Rush-Henrietta Kicking Hunger 5K in Henrietta, NY. The 2021 race will provide participants with two options - a live event on Saturday, June 5th or a virtual event the weekend of Friday, June 4th to Sunday, June 6th.
The purpose of this race will continue to focus on bringing awareness and providing tangible solutions to the issue of hunger in our community, as well as continuing the tradition of promoting exercise and family-centered events in our town. The 2018, 2019, and 2020 races raised $3,300, $5,500, and $7,000 respectively, and also allowed for RHAFT to collect hundreds of non-perishable food items. Race proceeds have directly impacted our local community by helping to fund the 2018 Rush-Henrietta Central School District (RHCSD) Kicking Hunger Summer Food Program, as well as providing support for community food and student-centered programs through both RHAFT and the RHCSD during the 2019 summer months. Current proceeds are being used to support the RHCSD Backpack Program which provides food to local families on a weekly basis. 2020 race proceeds are currently being used to fund the establishment and future maintenance of the Kicking Hunger Food Pantry in the Good Shepherd Building on East Henrietta Road.

Virtual Race Option Course Suggestions
The beauty of a virtual 5K is that you can run or walk whenever and wherever you want over the course of our race weekend. From your local neighborhood streets, to the Lehigh Valley Trail, to a local track, it is totally up to you! Below are a few possible ways to complete the 5K distance, along with a video of helpful tips and stretches from Lattimore Physical Therapy.
1. 5,000m is 12.5 times around a standard track. It might be a little repetitive, but you can't get much flatter.
2. Check out the link to the Mapmyrun Course around Veterans Memorial Park located below the map of how to get to the park. Two laps of this 1.55 mile course puts you right at the 5K distance (plus you never have to leave the park). PLEASE NOTE: THIS COURSE WILL BE UNAVAILABLE FROM 7:30 - 9:30 am ON SATURDAY, JUNE 5th FOR THE LIVE EVENT TO BE HELD.
