We hope that you will join us for the Inaugural FIRE WITHIN 5k!
Aug 23, 2023, during the IAFF's John P. Redmond Health and Safety Symposium/Dominick F. Barbara EMS Conference, the FIRE WITHIN 5K race will bring fire fighters and cancer fighters together in New York City to support the partnership between the American Cancer Society and the International Association of Fire Fighters.
Cancer is the leading cause of line-of-duty death among fire fighters today. The collaboration between the IAFF and ACS provides resources, tools, and prevention techniques to help protect fire fighters, emergency medical and rescue workers with the hope of preventing future disease.
Our race will run along the Hudson River, starting and finishing at the USS Intrepid, and is open to both IAFF members and the general public. Participants will also be given a fundraising page where you are able to let your friends, family, and co-workers know you are running with us and that they can donate to support your efforts.
We hope you will join the US and Canada's bravest as we help fire fighters fight cancer.
Race results will be available immediately following the race at this link: https://results.sporthive.com/events/7097202370294835200
The IAFF Fire Within 5K is benefitting the American Cancer Society's mission, the direct work that they are doing for fire fighters, and the IAFF Foundation.
