Greetings Verizon New York City Triathlon family,
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue to navigate the current COVID-19 situation. The health and safety of our athletes, staff, volunteers, vendors, charity partners and the broader community we serve is absolutely our top priority.
Due to the significant impact COVID-19 continues to pose to our community, we made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Verizon New York City Triathlon, scheduled to take place on July 19, 2020. While this was an incredibly difficult decision, we believe this is the right decision and in the best interest of all involved.
We missed seeing you at the start line of the New York City Triathlon this summer! We send a heartfelt thank you to all athletes who donated to the New York City Department of Education via Life Time Foundation by donating their New York City Triathlon entry and through additional donations. Because of your generosity, we raised over $32,000 to help the New York City Department of Education continue to serve meals during this time of crisis.
Additional race information can be found at https://www.nyctri.com/.
The Verizon New York City Triathlon is an Olympic distance race consisting of a 1500 meter swim in the Hudson River, a 40k bike on the Westside Highway and a 10k run. See you in the Hudson!
