Description

This race is in honor of Plainview and Syosset Hospital's Emergency Departments.

5K (3.107 Miles) - A USATF sanctioned event over a USATF certified course covering a flat and pleasant 5 kilometers through the suburban roads of Plainview, New York. 

Participants 16 and under in the live 5K Run/Walk and Wheelchair events receive 50% off during early registration! 

1/4 mile fun run for children 12 and under.

Charitable Beneficiary

The proceeds of this race will support Plainview Hospital's new catheterization lab.

  • All 5K entrants will be entered to win door prizes from the giant post-race door prize drawing with lots of prizes, headed by two (2) Flat Screen Smart HD TVs (must be present to win).

1/4 Mile Fun Run

The fun run is a 1/4 Mile run (one loop) around the middle school track. It is open to children up to age 12. All finishers will receive a medal.

There will be day-of-race registration, however it is strongly recommended that you register in advance

LIVE RACE - Run/Walk and Wheelchair Events:       

GLIRC Members and Northwell Health Employees get a $5 discount during early registration! Children 16 and under receive 50% off.

Early Registration - Through Friday July 16 5:00 PM EST

Individual Entry for in-person event - Adults:  $35, $30 for GLIRC Members/Northwell Employees  

Late Registration - Friday July 16 @ 5:01 PM - Sunday July 18 @ 8:15 AM  Individual Entry for in-person event-  $40 for all.

(PLEASE NOTE PRICE INCREASE FOR LATE REGISTRATION PERIOD!)

 

1/4 MILE CHILDRENS' FUN RUN:

Early Registration - Through Saturday July 17 5:00 PM EST  - Individual Entry for in-person event-  $10 for children ages 12 and under.

Late Registration - Saturday July 17 @ 5:01 PM - Sunday July 18 @ 7:00 AM  - Individual Entry for in-person event-  $13 for children ages 12 and under.

 

VIRTUAL RACE:

Entry fee for virtual race is $35, $30 for GLIRC Members/Northwell employees. There are no awards for the virtual events. Registration will close at 11:59 pm on Sunday July 25 Results can be posted from 12:00 AM July 18 through 11:59 PM July 25.

 

 

Bib Pickup

Please note: there is only one day of pre-race pickup! We STRONGLY encourage you to pick up your bib ahead of time if you are at all able to do so! 

Bib pickup will be available:

Saturday, July 17 from 10 AM to 2:00 PM at the GLIRC Clubhouse located at 101 Dupont St. #24 Plainview, NY 11803

Sunday, July 18 from 7:00 AM  - 8:15 AM at race check-in.

 It would be helpful if you knew your bib number when you arrived at bib pick-up.

You can pick up a bib for someone else (not on race day - you must pick up your own bib). If possible please bring their bib number to facilitate pickup.

Check In

We will be following all COVID-19 protocols set in place at the time of the race. 

Race check-in will take place from 7:00 AM to 8:15 AM at the POB Middle School, Southern Parkway parking lot. Absolutely no pick-up after 8:15 AM. 

Fun Run check in closes at 7:45 AM.

If you have not picked up your bib ahead of time (it is STRONGLY encouraged that you do so, however, to make race day go more smoothly!), you may do so at check-in. 

All participants will be required to bring with them the completed COVID Health Screening form attached in the section below. YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO RUN IF YOU DO NOT COMPLETE THE FORM.

After you hand in the form your bib will be marked off so that you may proceed to participate. 

** PLEASE print and fill out your COVID health form ahead of time and bring it with you so that we keep the area clear of clusters and safe for everyone.

SWITCH FROM LIVE RACE TO VIRTUAL

If you are registered for the live race but would like to transfer to the virtual race, this option is available through 11:59pm on July 17. If you cannot run the live event for ANY reason, switch to the virtual event so that your race giveaway will be automatically mailed to you once the virtual race period has ended on July 25.

Virtual Race Participant Instructions

WHEN/WHERE

You may run your race anywhere you choose at your own convenience and post your results anytime between July 18 and July 25, 2021. Complete your run, and upload your results and photos on the race website HERE.  (You can also go to your RunSignUp profile, go to your Upcoming races, and click on Submit Virtual Results. ) **Don't forget to print out your finisher's certificate after you submit your time by going back to the results! **  

HOW TO DOWNLOAD YOUR RACE BIB
After registering for the race, click the circle icon in the top right corner of RunSignUp.com
Click "profile." Scroll down to "Upcoming Races" Select View the Pre-Race bib. Print it out and wear as you run your race! Take a photo and share on social media!
