Please join us for a VIRTUAL Rochester River Run, this year’s version of our annual 5k run and walk. In this time of evolving COVID-19 challenges, we believe this is the most appropriate way to promote the health and safety of our patients and event participants, while continuing to raise funds for our transplant community.
For those new to virtual races, this simply means that you can complete your very own run or walk anywhere and any time you choose during a given window of time. In this case, you can track your own distance and time, and submit your run/walk results to be posted anytime from Oct. 1–18.
We understand the dedication and effort you've all put in to participating in this important event for our patients and their families. We truly appreciate and thank you for your patience as we strive to assist and care for our patients during these most challenging of times.
Thank you for your support of our patients and their families.
The 2020 Rochester River Run Committee
The River Run/Walk 5K is an annual event sponsored by Friends of Strong Memorial Hospital and the hospital’s transplant units. All proceeds directly benefit transplant patients and the Friends of Strong patient care fund.
Transplant recipients who come to Strong for heart, liver, pancreas or kidney transplant often need financial assistance while they await and recover from transplant surgery. In addition to costly medical treatment, the need to travel – for some a great distance – adds financial strain on patients and their families. Your support and participation in the River Run will help hundreds of patients currently awaiting transplants, as well as those who continue to receive follow-up care from Strong.
