Mon October 12 - Sun November 15 Sayville, NY 11782 US Directions

Description

Welcome to the 2020 Fall Segments Series, brought to you by SRC! The concept is simple, five segments, five weeks, one segment for each week. At 12:00am on Monday October 12th, Segment #1 will open up for results. You then have exactly seven days to log your fastest time on Segment #1. On Sunday October 18th at 11:59pm, Segment #1 has closed and results are final. On October 19th at 12:00am, the process starts over for segment #2. This will go on for five weeks until November 15th when Segment #5 closes. Details for each segment can be found under "SEGMENT INFO" at the top of this page.

If you register for at least one segment, you will receive a 2020 Fall Segments Series running hat. If you register for all five segments, you will receive a 2020 Fall Segments Series flannel shirt. STRATEGY

There are two things to consider when strategizing your plan for this virtual challenge. First thing to consider is that only your top three segment finishes throughout the series will count towards your final placement in the series. With that in mind, it is best to play into your strengths if you want to place well in the series. Are you better at longer distances or shorter distances? Are you better on the roads or on cross country courses? Are you better at hills or do you prefer the flat terrain? And since it is your finishes that count towards series points, you could potentially score the most points on your weakest performance if not that many people run well on that segment. It's not about how fast you run, it's about how far up the list you finish.

The other thing to consider is that only the top three runners on each team score team points for each race and the series. With that in mind, Where will your team be playing your cards? Obviously it would be the easiest thing to run your best three runners all at the same segments and hope for the best, but we all know that life isn't that simple, our schedules don't always align, and our strengths and weaknesses don't always match up with our team mates.
