Come out and celebrate the return of Long Island's threatened River Herring (alewife) at Peconic Baykeeper's 2nd Annual "Alewife Run 5K" fun run event! Every year, thousands of alewives migrate through Long Island's Peconic and South Shore Estuaries and "run" into freshwater to spawn. Once again, we will be running with them! Fish costumes and decor are highly encouraged, so be sure to take photos with friends and family and upload them to the race page.
Registration:
$30 (includes race t-shirt shipped to a U.S. address)*
*Shirts will be shipped approximately 2 weeks after the race
All race proceeds will directly support Peconic Baykeeper, a 501 (c) (3) not for profit dedicated to protecting and restoring Long Island's drinkable, swimmable, and fishable waters. For sponsorship opportunities, please contact info@peconicbaykeeper.org
