Twenty Kilometer Road Race Vestal, New York. This is the oldest race in New York State's southern tier with roots back to the 1930s. The photo at the top of this page was taken in the first race in 1971. From left: Nick Ruggieri, Kathrine Switzer who was the first woman to run the Boston Marathon as a registered runner, and her training partner, Arnie Briggs. Triple Cities Runners Club members receive a $2.00 discount. If you are not a member and want to be, you will be given the opportunity as you check out.
There will be an early start for those runners who do not expect to complete the race in less than two hours and fifteen minutes. The spirit of the early start is to allow slower runners to finish with the pack and join in with the post-race festivities. To participate, sign up at the registration table on race day by 7:10 AM for the 7:30 AM start. Please note that early starters are not eligible for awards.
There is no packet pickup. On race morning report to the Vestal Senior Center, 201 S. Main Street by 7:30 am to pick up your competition bib number. The race starts and finishes at the Senior Center.
