This event, in memory of Gregg Wenzel ’91, will consist of a 5K run/walk around campus. The 5K is open to all. Wenzel was a triathlete and former student-athlete at Binghamton who competed on the men’s varsity swimming and diving team. He was killed in a car accident in July 2003 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where he was working as a CIA director of operations. Race check-in and on-site registration will take place at the West Gym. The run/walk will start and end in front of the Gregg Wenzel Memorial statue on Bearcat Boulevard. Awards will be given to the top male and female finishers in separate age categories. Race-day registration at the West Gym will start at 7:45 a.m. The entry fee is $10 for students and $20 for all others. Entrants must be 13 years or older.
