This unique marathon swimming event brings together experienced open water swimmers to complete one of the Northeast's most exciting and demanding relay swims. The crossing requires teamwork, endurance, navigation expertise, and a commitment to the traditions of classic channel swimming.

In 2026, two Martha's Vineyard relay teams, each consisting of four-five swimmers, will attempt the crossing. Each team is supported by:

• A companion escort power boat

• A licensed and experienced Vineyard Sound boat captain

• An official observer responsible for documenting the swim according to English Channel rules

• An experienced open-ocean kayaker
