Dog Jog 5K and Fun Run

Make a difference to the animals in your community by joining us for the 33rd Annual Dog Jog 5K and Fun Run, a fundraising event that supports CHA Animal Shelter.

To participate in this event, simply register to either complete a 5K Run/Walk or a 1-Mile Run/Walk virtually or onsite at Genoa Park. It is always a great experience to enjoy a fun-filled morning of exercise with your ENTIRE family, including your dog! For those who are unable to join us for the in-person event on October 1 at Genoa Park, there is a virtual option, where participants can submit results anytime between October 1 and October 8! To submit virtual results, simply go to the results tab at the top of this page between October 1 and October 8, and click the button that says "Submit Virtual Results".

You don't have to run or walk or attend the event to make a difference at our shelter - you can always become a fundraiser and make your voice heard in your community:

• To become a fundraiser, visit the event fundraising page at https://givebutter.com/LEzoV4. Next to the Team Members heading, click Fundraiser and enter your information to create your team.

• Share the link to the event fundraising page with others through text, email, or social media.

• You can make the page in memory of a lost pet or even make a goofy page for an energetic pet that needs to burn some energy on the run. Either way, it's for a great cause!

• This year we are offering special prizes to our fundraisers based on the donations you are able to collect! Check out the different levels below. Photos of the fundraiser incentives can be found on our website at http://www.chaanimalshelter.org/dogjog.

  • $50 - In-Shelter Cage Sponsorship
  • $125 – Sticker Sheet
  • $250 – CHA Tote Bag
  • $400 – Glass Tumbler with Straw
  • $750 – CHA Beach Towel
  • $1,000 – Embroidered Scarf
  • $1500 – Embroidered Duffle Bag

     

    Due to the custom aspect of the above items, they will be ordered after the event on 10/02/23. Once items have arrived, fundraisers will be contacted and the items can either be picked up in-person at CHA Animal Shelter or can be mailed.
    
    Not interested in signing up as an individual fundraiser? General donations to CHA can be made through the Dog Jog event page on the shelter website. Special prizes in addition to the fundraising incentives above will be awarded to the TOP 3 fundraisers!

Swag

Participants who register for this year's race will receive a 2023 Dog Jog t-shirt! Shirts are guaranteed for those who register before September 10. For those who register on September 10 or later, t-shirts are available while supplies last.

Early Packet Pickup

Race items can be picked up at CHA Animal Shelter (3765 Corporate Dr - 43231) between 12pm and 2pm or 6pm and 8pm Wednesday, September 27th through Friday, September 29th, and between 1pm and 4pm on Saturday, September 30.

VIRTUAL PARTICIPANTS: If you registered for the virtual 5K or 1-mile and signed up to have your materials delivered to you, we will mail all virtual materials out on Monday, October 2 (so you should receive them during the week of October 2-7). For anyone who would like to submit virtual results, you can do so on the race website between Oct 1 and Oct 8.

Race Day Parking

There is ample parking in the downtown area surrounding Genoa Park. There are multiple garages nearby and also any available metered spots are free on Sundays.

Race Day Pickup/Registration: 7:30 am - 8:55 am
Start of 5K & 1-Mile: 9:00 am
