Participating in the virtual race and being in the Offical Boring Results is super easy! In the virtual race you will receive a medal, shirt (if you register by the shirt deadline), and official race results. Due to Oregon's Historic wildfires (because, you know, it's 2020), the race submission period has been extended until end of day Sunday October 4th.
1. A week prior to the race you will receive an email with your Virtual Race Bib and the link to submit results.
2. When the race officially starts on Sunday, September 13th you will receive an email and text message welcoming you to the race.
3. You will have between Sunday, September 13th and end of day Sunday, October 4th to complete and submit your race result.
4. Submission of your race results can be done via web form or text message.
5. When submitting your results, you will have the option to include a link to your Strava or Garmin Connect activity. If you do this, your results will be marked as Verified. If you don't have one of these apps, you can install Strava from your phone's app store and run with your phone.
When you report your results, you will be able to upload photos of your race to go into the Official Boring Race Photo Gallery.
Race results will be produced online and ranked in the following categories: overall, gender, and age group.

The Boring Marathon, Half-Boring Half-Marathon, and Constantly Boring 8K will take place on September 12, 2021. All races start and finish at Boring Station Trailhead Park in downtown Boring, Oregon. Parking will be at Boring Middle School and the surrounding neighborhood. Please use SE Wally Rd and SE School Ave to reach parking after 6:15 am, as runners will be crossing SE Dee St. The three races are all on the Springwater Trail, out and back, with the marathon having a few side detours to take in some local neighborhoods. The marathon mainly follows the Springwater Trail into Gresham and then continues onto a portion of the Gresham-Fairview Trail to Division Street before returning to the Springwater Trail, heading further west for a few more miles, then turning and heading home to Boring following the same route. The Half Boring Half is an out-and-back on the Springwater Trail. The same goes for the Constantly Boring 8K, which never really leaves the Boring area, so truly is constantly Boring. All races support the cross country and track teams at Barlow H.S. and West Orient Middle School and all proceeds go directly to these programs.
Limit - Marathon is limited to 130, Half to 220, the 8K to 150, and Virtual (unlimited).
Packet pick-up - TBA
Time limit - Walkers are welcome, but because we run part of the race along roads, we need to discontinue aid stations and traffic control after 6 hours. However, we will stay until the last runner/walker comes in and nobody will be disqualified by time. Early starts will be allowed - but are not required - for marathoners who expect to take longer than 6 hours.
Boring Sister City of Dull, Scotland - any resident of Dull, Scotland gets free registration (but you pay the travel)
Awards - All entries prior to August 15 are guaranteed to receive a shirt in their first size choice. After that time, shirts in your first size choice may not be available. To help guide a second choice, men's shirts tend to run a little large, and women's tend to run a little small. Medals will be awarded to finishers in all three races. Awards to top 3 places (male and female) in each age group for all races.
Refunds and deferrals - Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds or deferrals once you have registered.
Changing races - If you signed up for a race and wish to change to a different race, please contact the race director before September 1 at email@example.com.
The Boring Marathon is a USATF certified course and a Boston Qualifier.
