The ORRC Turkey Trot at the Oregon Zoo is a multi-generational family event. Runners and walkers of all abilities love the 4-Mile, untimed out-and-back course. The event starts at The Oregon Zoo, goes out to the International Rose Garden, then finishes inside The Oregon Zoo at the Elephant Plaza. The Diaper Dash (children below 2 years old) and the Tot Trot (for children between 2 and 11 years old) events follow the 4-Mile event.
4-mile youth and Diaper Dash and Tot Trot registrants receive awesome commemorative shirt. Adult shirt optional. Chocolate turkeys are back, and ribbons for the tots.
Approximately $25,000 of registration fees benefit The Oregon Zoo.
ORRC members automatically receive $10 off stated registration fee when registering. Registration is open through 8:15am for Turkey Trot and through 9am for kids runs on Thanksgiving Day, November 23rd. The cost of registration goes up as the event gets closer (as low as $27, up to $40 on day of race), so register early to save money.
Awesome family rates are available (maximum 2 adults and 3 children - immediate family only) by choosing our multi-person pricing option in the sign-up process. Registration info must be completed for each family member. ORRC member discount does not apply.

2) Then scroll down to "+ Add Another Registrant"option.
3) Click the carrot - "^" to the right and on the same line as "None", revealing the family rate as shown below.
4) Select the family option and then add registrations for other family members.
NOTE: Family rate is NOT available for day-of-event registrations.
6:30am to 9am - Onsite same day registration, bib and 2023 shirt pickup at Oregon Zoo Cascade Grill, to right after entering main gates.
7:30am. to 8:30am Turkey Trot and Turkey Train 4 Mile "Rolling Starts" one-hour window to start at SW Knights Blvd start line between Oregon Zoo and Western Forestry Center. Follows signs to start line.
9:15am- Diaper Dash (up to 3) - Oregon Zoo Elephant House
9:20 am- Tot Trot (Ages 5 - 11) - Oregon Zoo Elephant House
Timing
This event is noncompetitive, so there will be no overall or age group awards. There will be clocks at the start and finish lines.
The chocolate turkeys are BACK! Each participant receives an awesome chocolate turkey made by Promotional Treats, and the chance to win one of 150 humungous pumpkin pies. (Check the back of your bib to see if you're a winner.) At the finish line we'll have fruit, water, Gatorade, snacks and a DIY bagel bar with assorted spreads. We'll have coffee for the adults and hot chocolate for the kids! Diaper Dash and Tot Trot kids receive a special commemorative ribbon and goodies.
An optional long-sleeve tech shirt is available at online pre-registration in Women's (S - 2 XL) and Unisex (S - XXXL) and kid's sizes. Adult sizes are $20 each and youth sizes are $15.
Guaranteed shirt availability cut-off date is November 7th. After November 7th, a limited number of past year's shirts are available at the event for those registering after November 1 and for those who initially didn't purchase a shirt when registering. Size not guaranteed.
Drop bags will be provided inside Cascade Grill, inside the Zoo's main gate. Bags must be picked up by 10am.
There will be one aid station on the 4 mile course, stocked with water, Gatorade and Gu. This race will be cupless, so bring your own hydration system. ORRC will be offering reusable cups if you forget your own.
Only paid event registrants will be able to enter the Zoo. Your bib serves as your zoo pass. Discounted zoo admission only available at ORRC online and inside Cascade Grill at Main Gate for those not participating in the ORRC events.
Zoo entry pass for one parent for each registered Tot Trot and Diaper Dash participant is included with registration. Additional family members wishing discounted Zoo admission must purchase tickets from ORRC online or at Cascade Grill registration desk on Thanksgiving Day.
Oregon Zoo has limited parking for a fee ($1.60 per hour after 9:30 AM). We encourage you to ride Tri-Met. Call 503-238-RIDE or see trimet.org for the Holiday schedule for MAX. If you use TriMet we'll give you a coupon good for a free Turkey Trot shirt from past races.
The Oregon Zoo does not allow pets or bikes on their premise. Strollers and child carrier backpacks are encouraged to position themselves at end of the individual 7:30am - 8:30am start waves.
