Ozone Endurance Challenge

Wed October 11 - Sun October 15 Directions

Runner Email #2

Hey Zoners!

Are you getting excited yet? It's less than two weeks until the Zoner party starts! We are super stoked and can’t wait to see you at beautiful Camp Ozone! We’re really looking forward to supporting and encouraging you as you tackle the Ozone Endurance Challenge. You’re in for an epic experience!

We have a number of important items to go over. So let's take a few minutes together to carefully go through them.

1) The website has been updated with some important info, including parking, check-in, camping and course maps. Most, if not all, of your questions should be answered there. Please review it carefully: https://www.ozonechallenge.org If you still have a question, please reach out via the website contact portal here

2) Registration is currently full. However, if you know of anyone still undecided, encourage them to grab a waitlist spot ASAP. They just might be lucky enough to snag a spot from a cancellation or that otherwise opens up. Click here For those who are still procrastinating, we are planning to have limited day of registration on site also. Swag and awards are not guaranteed.

3) We have a huge need for volunteers! PLEASE ask your family/friends to come support you and all the other runners. Also, if you can help before and/or after your race, please consider also grabbing a volunteer spot or two. All volunteers will receive credits towards any of our future Life Wide Open events and online store merchandise. Credits can also be gifted. Here's the link for all the volunteer details.

4) Remember, our host is a Children's Bible Camp. As such, there are no weapons, alcoholic beverages, smoking, or pets permitted (active duty licensed service dogs are allowed). Please carefully note the parking areas/requirements also. Thank you for respecting and complying with the rules. Along with your support team, please review ALL of the Camp and Zoner rules here.

5) This is a fall race. Don’t underestimate the possibility and seriousness of hypothermia. It can be a major issue! Please plan accordingly and come prepared!! Staying dry/warm and having plenty of layers of the proper clothing to add/take off as needed, and adequate nutrition/hydration, will be huge. It can easily make the difference between a great race or a near death (or worse) experience. Here is the website link with typical October weather conditions to be prepared for.

6) You guys and girls are in for a real treat! Endurance Doc Jeanne Williams with Quest Health and Performance will be joining us starting Friday afternoon to take care of you guys. Her PT skills, blister treatments, and medical attention have save many runner’s races. If you are experiencing ANY medical issues, PLEASE be sure to see her ASAP. Especially if you are considering quitting. She literally works miracles! Please bring cash to fill her tip jar to overflowing and show her how much you appreciate her giving up her weekend to take care of you.

7) If you DIDN'T specifically sign up for the free (to runners) Sunday finisher’s lunch, we didn't order one for you. However, if you still want to go and enjoy the awesome food, fellowship, and runner recognition, PLEASE reply and let us know ASAP. We *might* be able to get you added.

8) If you have gently used clean running gear you no longer need and would like to bless someone else with, please bring it for our free gear swap table at Check-in. Also, check out all the goodies there if you're looking for something.

9) We will have a limited supply of some Ozone merchandise (shirts, silicone cups, mugs, etc) items available for sale at check-in. Grab them before they’re gone!

10) The camp closes and secures the main entrance gate each night and reopens it in the morning. Sometimes, it may be closed and false locked. If so, we are allowed to open it and pass through, if needed. Please be sure close and false lock it back exactly as before. If applicable, please make sure all of your support team are aware of this.

11) Bib numbers have been assigned! Check them out here.

12) We expect to have live runner results updates posted online periodically during the event. The link will be posted on the event website home page prior to the first race starting: https://www.ozonechallenge.org

13) Here’s the website link for the runner emails that have been sent out so far.

14) We expect to send out one more email prior to the event.

That’s it for now. Enjoy tapering as you get ready to rock the Zoner Party!

Cheers!
Will Jorgensen and the Zoner Team
