We have designed the Oakland RunFest Training Camp to help you prepare for the virtual Oakland Running Festival and keep you motivated and entertained while doing so. Here's how:
YOU CAN DO YOUR TRAINING CAMP MILES ANYWHERE AND AT ANY TIME. JOIN ANYTIME BETWEEN JAN 4 and MARCH 14
As you progress along in Training Camp, you will reach milestone checkpoints and earn badges for your personal Trophy Case. Some checkpoints may unlock a prize or discount opportunity from one of our partners. You’ll have a 10-week window from January 4 to March 14 to complete the full Training Camp challenge.
There are 20 Milestone Checkpoints. For every 5 workouts you complete, you will earn a milestone badge. In addition as you progress toward your end goal, you will receive up to 10 additional badges. Those who earn all 20 Milestone Checkpoints will be deemed Camp Champs!
There are also opportunities to earn additional badges based on things like consecutive activity days, total time, training on a specific date and more!
BE READY! Some Milestone Checkpoints will include prizes, discounts and benefits from some of our favorite race partners and supporters.
Our weekly themes will keep your training runs interesting and entertaining. We will suggest new places to run, landmarks to seek out, cool things to look for and awesome places to visit. We will have prizes for those who interact with us on on social media pages for things like posting photos, completing puzzles and adding to the conversation.
The weekly distance goals are targets to help get you ready for race day. Weekly emails and social media posts will guide you on how best to complete them and will typically include 3 or 4 workouts during weekdays and a longer run on the weekends. However the plan can modified to fit your training & fitness goals. Again, our program is designed to fit your needs and to keep you motivated to train for your Oakland RunFest race.
