This Evergreen Lake Triathlon offers the following race options:
- Super Sprint Triathlon
- Sprint Triathlon (including Aquabike, Relay, and Clydesdale/Athena)
- Sprint Duathlon
- SwimFest (400m, 800m, and 1600m swim options)
You can choose to do 1, 2, or all 3 races (Get 30% off your 2nd race and 45% off your 3rd race) in order as follows:
1. 400m Swim, or Super Sprint Triathlon (7:30AM start)
2. 800m Swim, or Sprint Tri/Du (8:30AM start)
3. 1600m Swim (10:30AM start)

Eligibility
Both races are open to adults. Both races are open to youth athletes 9 and older. (Racing age is age as of 12/31/25, as per USAT guidelines).
COURSES (1 loop unless otherwise noted)
1. 400m Swim
2. Super Sprint Tri (Youth and Adult) - 400m Swim, 5 mile bike, 1.1 mile run
3. 800m Swim
4. Sprint Tri - 800m Swim, 10 mile bike (2 loops), 5K run (2 loops)
5. Sprint Duathlon - 1.1 mile run, 10 mile bike (2 loops), 5K run (2 loops)
6. 1600m Swim (2 loops)
ADDITIONAL RACE INFO
Race will be held rain or shine.
No refunds. A registered athlete may request a deferral to next year's event if they do so at least 14 days prior to the event. A nominal fee shall apply.
Custom awards to top 3 in each age group, in each event.
Free hot food buffet for all racers and volunteers.
Both youth and adult Super Sprint and Sprint Triathlons are USA Triathlon sanctioned. We will follow the USAT Wetsuit rule of 78º temperature threshold. Should the water temperature exceed 78º, anyone wearing a wetsuit will not be counted in the official results. Should the water temperature exceed 84º F, no wetsuits may be worn. We will post the water temperature on our Facebook Page the week leading up to the race, and final temperature will be announced on race morning.
Sorry, NO PETS ARE ALLOWED at the race (see below). This is a private lake; a condition of our use of the facility is that pets must not be brought to the lake. Thank for your understanding.
Camping is available at the race site, should you wish to stay at Evergreen Lake the night before or after the race.
Note that the campground will only accept two night (i.e. Friday/Saturday) reservations ahead of time. Single night rentals can be made on-site on the day of arrival, but are subject to availability. Contact Evergreen Lake for more information about camping.
One t-shirt per registrant, not per event. Additional can be purchased.

USAT INFORMATION
This is a USAT Sanctioned event. All participants must have an active USAT Membership that has not expired before the conclusion of the event and must follow all USAT rules and guidelines.

Common Rules and Information
- ALL athletes are required to show photo ID. NO ID, NO RACE, NO EXCEPTIONS!
- Youth (17 and under) athletes without an ID must be accompanied by a parent/guardian with a photo ID
- Annual members are required to bring their membership card every time they compete in a USAT Sanctioned event.

- Athletes may only pick up their own packets. Under no circumstances may an athlete pick up a packet for another person.
- No drafting: a maximum of 15 seconds will be allowed to complete a pass through the draft zone of another athlete
- Headphones are prohibited
- No riding in transition at any time
- Helmets/Chin straps must be worn securely fastened at all times while in possession of your bike. This means before, during, and after the event. This also means from the time you remove your bike from the rack at the start of the bike leg, until after you have placed your bike on the rack at the finish of the bike leg.
- Verbal or physical abuse of others is not acceptable or tolerated. Participants shall refrain from unsportsmanlike conduct at all times while at the event and during competition, including the use of abusive language; violent acts; intentional misconduct; or any intimidating behavior directed toward, including but not limited to participants, officials, event staff, volunteers and spectators.
Pre-Race/Check-In
- Parking - park in the gravel lot immediately across the road from the lake. No parking along the road. Absolutely no driving on grass other than in designated parking areas.
- Packet pickup and transition area open: 6:00 am to 7:15 am
- At check in you will pick up your swim cap and race number
- Clear transition area: 7:15 am
- Pre-race meeting: 7:20 am
- Super Sprint, Race start: 7:30 am
Swim
- Open water (lake)
- Super Sprint Triathlon: 400 meters
- Sprint Triathlon: 800 meters
- Start is edge of lake (not in-water)
- Counter-clockwise loop
- Keep buoys on your left, except for the last turn on the 800m race
- There will be in-water lifeguards
- Wetsuits will be allowed if the water temp is 78 degrees or less. If the water temp is > 78 degrees, no wetsuits will be allowed.
Wave starts
Transition 1
- Turn RIGHT when you finish the swim, following cones and moving toward your bike in the transition area.
- Enter the transition area where it says "SWIM IN".
- Helmets are required! No helmet, no race.
- All helmets must be buckled prior to moving your bike out of the transition area.
- No bike riding in the transition area.
- Leave the transition area where it says "BIKE OUT".
- Mount your bike at the mount line once you get out on the road.
Bike
- Super Sprint: 5 miles total. One loop of a 5-mile course.
- Sprint: 10 miles total. Two loops of a 5-mile course.
- Roads are flat to slightly rolling, with no large climbs.
- ANY bike you have is fine (except an E-bike, of course). Road, mountain, gravel, hybrid, BMX, triathlon bikes all acceptable.
- Roads will not be closed, but the area is rural with very light traffic on a Sunday morning.
- No drafting. (Do not ride immediately behind another rider.)
- Please stay on the far right side of the road, except to pass another rider.
- Pass other riders only on their left, when it is safe to do so.
- PLEASE DO NOT CROSS THE DOUBLE YELLOW LINE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. Stay right.
- Course marshals will be at each intersection directing athletes where to turn.
- Directions (provided only for reference -- you do not need to remember these on race day):
- Turn RIGHT out of transition area onto BENDERS Dr.
- Stay Left on BENDERS Dr.
- Turn RIGHT onto SCENIC Dr.
- Turn RIGHT onto SMITH GAP Rd.
- Stay LEFT on SMITH GAP Rd.
- Turn RIGHT onto MOUNTAIN Rd.
- Stay STRAIGHT onto BENDERS Dr.
- This returns you to the lake/race site. If you are finishing your FIRST loop, continue STRAIGHT and repeat the above directions for your second loop. If you're finishing your SECOND loop, turn RIGHT into the transition area.
- After second loop, get off bike at DISMOUNT line. Move toward transition area.
- Enter transition area where it says "BIKE IN".

Transition 2
- Enter transition area where it says "BIKE IN"
- No bike riding in transition area.
- Replace bike on rack in its original spot
- Don't forget to remove your helmet!
- Exit transition area where it says "RUN OUT"
Run
- Follow signs/cones/volunteers.
- Directions:
- Super Sprint
- Leave transition area heading across grassy field towards gravel road
- RIGHT on gravel road
- FOLLOW gravel road loop clockwise, as indicated by signs/volunteers
- Bear LEFT off gravel road following signs and cones towards finish area
- The Super Sprint run is the entire route in the map below (including clockwise around the lower loop).

- Sprint
- Leave transition area heading across grassy field towards gravel road
- RIGHT on gravel road
- FOLLOW gravel road south
- Stay straight on the gravel road toward Copella Rd.
- Turn around before the end of the road at the U-turn sign
- Turn hard left on the gravel road loop, continuing clockwise, as indicated by signs/volunteers
- Turn around before the grassed area (do not come all the way back to transition) and do the entire loop twice
- At the end of the 2nd loop, Bear LEFT off gravel road following signs and cones toward finish area

Post-Race
- Hot Food/drinks
- Awards ceremony will begin at approximately 11:15 am
- Overall and Age-group awards, starting with 400m swim
- Special recognition -
1) Top three fastest M+F overall combined time for all 3 races (400m, 800m, 1600m Swim AND Super Sprint, Sprint, and 1600m Swim);
2) Fastest parent/child for each race;
3) Fastest sibling pair for each triathlon (no age restriction);
