Post-flood update: The new 5K and 10K courses have been repaired, so there are no changes from the original maps. However, some of the terrain has changed. If you are considering the 10K, BE WARNED: The long course is MUCH harder this year than in the past! If you are not comfortable with multiple stream crossings, using your hands to scramble up steep spots, and loose descents, please consider racing the short course. You can transfer your registration with no penalty. There is also NO AID on the long course, so be prepared with water and food. But there is a $100 prize to first male and female 10K finisher from EatRunRest.com.
The 5K and 10K have staggered starts and will be chip-timed. Trails are technical; scenery is stunning. Race benefits Salt Springs Park.
Detours: The park CANNOT be accessed via Route 167. The best way to get there is from Route 29, turning onto Silver Creek Road / SR 4008 at Franklin Forks. The park is one mile west on Silver Creek Road, but use caution as the road is damaged but drivable.
